Weird match for Lee, took two of the most important wickets first up, then lost the plot in the middle and then came back and dominated.

Well done to India though, as has been said, if a few of the other performed things may have been different with a few more wickets in hand coming into 5 overs left with 10 an over needed. Classic ODI knock from Gambhir, kept his cool despite falling wickets, continued rotating the strike and never let the RRR get out of control giving India a chance to win the game. The fact they weren't able to take it and cross the line shouldn't detract from it.

Great effort from Gambhir and Uthappa to make such a match of it, but nonetheless its another win for the Aussies and another michelle for Binger, not his best bowling effort but a five-for in an Odi is always a pretty good effort.

Haha, they throw Manoj in on a fresh Gabba deck right after he gets off the plane but then bench him for the rest of the series.

Wouldn't mind seeing him given another go but who do we drop? Viru?

Tiwary and Raina should have been played in previous matches (the rain affected game vs. SL, or the last SL game). Its too late now, India vs. SL is a must-win because you don't want to leave it to the MCG game with their own fate out of their hands.

Sehwag's far from a great ODI batsman, but I'd rather him be in the ODI team (particularly with his added bowling) in a must-win game on Australian tracks rather Raina or Tiwary.

Seriously, did they bring Raina and Tiwary all the way to Australia to sit on the bench?
I would say drop Sehwag and Sharma, open with Gambhir and then you can play Tiwari and Raina, i mean if they have brought these guys on tour atleast they should give them a bit of a run, both Sharma and Sehwag have had their fair share of chances, but they haven't made much of an impact, so it would make sense to drop them and give Raina and Tiwari a look in.

Sharma's been inconsistent, but I'd hardly say he hasn't made much of an impact.

I don't see how you could make two changes in a must-win game.

Looks like getting to 300 ODI wickets by the end of the series, he'll be the fastest to that milestone by a ways. Shoe-in for the AB medal too? If he'd made the World Cup maybe.

Gambhir = Awesome

I felt like a solitary figure when I was the only one who was supporting him on these boards. Great to see him get runs and he's easily looking the most threatning top order Indian batsman. Uthappa was brilliant and he should be moulded into an ODI finisher as he's got some skill playing those innovative shots. Dhoni was the key again and his solidity helped India get close.

Disappointed to lose again but a good effort by the Indian guys overall.

Whooa good stuff from both Gambhir and Uthappa to get us close but the really pleasing aspect from an Indian perspective was how well we fought back from 4/51. Basically no sane person would give India any chance but its the first time ever Ive seen India get close to a massiv target when the top order has failed.

Although Dhoni did a great rebuilding job once again, I think he underrated (rightly so) how useful the tail would be in great batting conditions and his 36(66) really ate up valuable deliveries. That being said Tendulkar, Sharma and Yuvraj were poor period.

Now for the top order to fire....

Those first 10 overs of batting and bowling cost India the match. Bowled absolutely tripe in first 10 and than batted crap in their first 10 overs of the innings.
I was quite happy about the ton by Gambhir and Uthappa's innings.
Sreesanth's bowling was a worry again. Good entertainment though.

Symmonds is ****... just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet.
Healy.. when did he get this bad.. he didn't used to be this biased in previous seasons but has gone up a notch this summer.
Comment about arrogant celebration was just absolutely hilarious.
