Cricket Web Blue v Cricket Web Red
PDV Dome
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
Determined batting from Cricket Web Blue defined a 5-wicket win over Cricket Web Red at the Dome. From a problematic 149-5, the Blues overhauled CW Red's total of 219-9 with ease in the end.
Alex Crampton was composed with another unbeaten knock, scoring 44 in the partnership of 74. He was well supported by Luke Tyson, who scored 36 not out. The pick of the bowlers for the Reds was Kingsley Clapham, bowling sharply at his medium pace and moving the ball both ways to claim 2 wickets in his spell. All of the Blue top order scored double figures, though Mamesh was the best with 36 from 52 balls. He was fifth out, caught in the deep off Bennett, and gave way to the matchwinning stand. Two balls into the 47th over, Tyson ended the game with a booming cover drive to the ropes.
Earlier Manan Shah produced an inspired spell of seam bowling, reeling off his 10 overs in one spell and taking a career-best 4 for 40. After the Reds had established themselves with an opening stand of 61, Shah derailed the innings with some disciplined an accurate bowling. Throughout the innings the Blue fielders faltered, but the bowlers created enough chances to stay on top. Ultimately the batting of Zac Ritchie was paramount in posting a respectable total, as he scored 42 not out from 48 balls. It was hardly enough in the final passage though.

Cricket Web Black v Cricket Web Colts
Pickford Reserve
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
Bruised and battered all season in the shorter form, there was no joy for Cricket Web Colts at Pickford. After they were inserted on a sluggish surface, the visitors crumbled to 165 all out against a brilliant bowling display.
Nath Patrick was at his best, revitalized since returning to the first team, and took 4 wickets to demolish the top order. Several batsmen got starts in the innings, but lapses of concentration consistently inspired their downfall. After the heroics of Patrick, Zac Gelman summoned the spotlight with a demolition act of his own. He put on a clinical display of slower balls, posing an effective variety and taking 5 for 23 to wrap up the innings in quick time.
In chase of the low total the Blacks encountered some early trouble. They lost the top three with 53 on the board, then Gerard Armstrong mistimed a sweep shot off McNamara when he had 11. But Alex Blackman continued his good form in a well structured innings, containing only 2 boundaries, but scored at a healthy rate. Masters XI v Cricket Web Green
Casston Reserve
Scorecard
Ball by Ball
Rebounding from their dire defeat in the five-day fixture, Cricket Web Green could not quite overcome Masters XI in the one-day rematch, losing by 3 wickets in the 48th over. The Greens only scored 216-9, but went close to defending it successfully on a tricky pitch.
At 80-1 in the 19th over, CW Green looked set for big things. But some clever bowling by the Masters spinners turned things around. Shane Warne and Dale Benkenstein shared 7 wickets, with the latter posting excellent figures of 4-28 in his 10 overs. The short Green batting lineup fell apart in the middle overs, and Nick Scott was the last of the recognized batsmen to fall when he bottom-edged a Benkenstein arm ball onto his stumps. He had scored 85 - the clear top score.
In their chase, chaotic running was symptomatic of the Masters innings, though the batsmen took their time to build innings. The target was approached with a calculated care, and though the top three batsmen were run out, there was never a sense of panic. The innings was set up calmly by Geraint Jones (47) and Brian Lara (54), then Benkenstein sealed a Man of the Match performance with a classy 42 off 48 balls. Inzamam-ul-Haq (23) and Shane Warne (2) were out quickly in a late burst by Cunningham, but it was far too little, too late. The following over, a wide and a Klusener single completed the game.
