BARNES OUT
You really don't like batting in the middle order do ya. Would be easy call for mine with you averaging 50 odd and Blackman averaging 30 odd.
Blackman just made a hundred and a fifty in the last game, solid move that would be. I batted at 3 for much of Season XI and averaged 29, as well as the fact that I made 48 runs in 4 innings batting at 4 earlier this season.

Thing is, those flukey runs have been few and far between. His average is greatly boosted by an unbeaten 300, in which he was dropped 9 times. Of course your average is greatly boosted by your 200, but you also have to take into account the times you batted out of position.

And no surprise that your best innings this season have come while batting with Arnold. Would be a meek surrender, rather than strong leadership, to drop yourself IMO.
Not sure what you're suggesting here tbh, possibly to drop Stedman which would be entirely unfair on a man who's struggled to make a mark in the longer form and is finally proving himself.

Don't really understand why people bother trying to advise the captains of the opposition when said captain is doing better than anyone else.

great win in fc guys, brilliant second innings, and a good chase, happy with my score in the 2nd dig as to help chase it down. Not so good in the one day game guys but playing black you seem to get that, happy with my score again but lets keep winning guys.

Probably in the best interest of the team. My simming average would still be lower than Arnold, Blackman or yourself.

Well how about that.. some personaly form. Even if it took 330+ balls to get there. Great to get the ton, but really need to build on that now and help us Reds surge to the finals! (which we will do).

Rob having another blinder.

I'm saying that someone has to miss out and it's never going to be fair. But you're the captain - the leader, inspirational and otherwise - as well as one of the most proven prolific batsmen. You dropping out to accommodate either Arnold or Stedman would be like Shivnarine Chanderpaul dropping out of the Guyana side to give Azeemul Hannif or Assad Fudadin a chance. It just doesn't make sense. The captain is the one to make sacrifices, but also to take the hard line and make the difficult decisions.

Dropping yourself just doesn't seem to make sense. Ftr, I feel the same about Andrew Garven not playing OD cricket this season. Admittedly he's not captain any more.

CW Black finished the first half with 1 win in their last 6 games. Not exactly brilliant. In that time both the Colts and the Blues gained a lot of ground on CW Black. It says a lot.

What says more is that for a large portion of that 1-in-6 "slump", Smith was either injured or batting out of position IIRC.
