Only bothered watching the latter parts as the CDM scum were getting humiliated. Didn't realise missing a hatful of chances was a good thing, when Rooney stops trying to be cute he might be back to being a world beater again.

Manure should have gone out of their way to put at least 6 past this lot and made sure the CDMs don't forget the match in a hurry. This sort of thing can help break/make a season.

Hahahaha that could of been 6,7 nil. That's bound to stick in the mind now for the PL game at Old Trafford. :)

In the real big game of the day, Mansfield beat Darlington who are 2nd in the league. Yeah we're not going down.

Reckon there will be a cleanout at the end of the season at 'pool. Kewell will be 1 of the first to go as well imo

Liverpool will never win the league with Rafa, his style is just not suited to the English game - very effective in Europe and Spain but if winning the league is the top priority then Rafa has to go IMO.

'Pool supporting mate of mine reckons Dubai International Capital will get control of Liverpool at the end of the season, the yanks will leave with a tidy profit & Mourinho will come in for next season.

There's obviously some wish-fulfillment involved, but it does sound plausible. I think Hicks & Gillette are now viewed as Glazers-by-the-back-door as they've saddled yer Scousers with £350 million debt.

Yeah. I don't think Rafa will be there next season whether DIC get control or not - but Mourinho managing them doesn't sound good to someone who hopes they crash and burn.

tbh although i'm a fan of rafa (or at least was until he started whinging about referees all the time and spent over £35m in the summer and still complains that he needs more money) i really think the writing is going to be on the wall soon, imo there goes liverpools only chance of a trophy this season. For a team that has serious premiership aspirations, to spend £28m on one player, then several other millions on other players, to be languishing outside the top four at this stage of the season is very poor, a team spending that much money should at least be in the top 3, were I a fan of liverpool I would be very unhappy indeed.

The Intercontinental Cup? What happened then?
No, the Intercontinental Cup was held in Japan, and we beat Palmeiras 1-0. What cpr is referring to was the inaugral World Club Championships we went to in 2000, and in doing so sacrificing the FA Cup.

Not sure if he was being sarcastic or not, but the reasons we went there went far beyond the competition itself, and given the kind of pressure we got put under to go, even from the Government, ultimately we had little choice. IIRC we were the only winners of the FA Cup to not defend the trophy.

I don't think United protested too strongly, in all fairness, but there was pressure on them to go from the FA to assist our failed bid for the 2006 WC. If United hadn't gone they'd have been replaced by Bayern and Jerry was one of our main rivals for the tournament (and obviously won the rights to stage it anyway).
