LOL at McShane.

Newcastle are fairly ****e by the lookms of things, Keegan does need t be given until after the summer though when he will have a chance to bring his own players in.

Well, not a bad point for Exeter, puts us in the play-off places for a couple of hours at least, and it's a point gained on Burton. With the Sh*ts and lil Torquay winning, probably kills our slim chances of automatic promotion, but 'twas a long shot anyway.

An excellent point for us, given that we should have been dead, buried, dug up, and had our heads displayed outside the Tower of London by half time.
  • We were nowhere near the races in the first half
  • The penalty was as stonewall as you could possibly wish to get. It is irrelevant whether there was contact or not, or whether Akinde made meal of it or not. Seaborne was a good yard and a half from the ball and was incredibly fortunate not to see yellow when he could have walked
  • Ebbsfleet could - and should - have been 3 or 4 up by half time but were denied several times by Marriott who made some superb stops and brave collections
  • Akinde had Edwards on toast at left back in the first half, chasing hoofball, aided by questionable non-application of offside
  • I think I may have been the only person in the Swanscombe End that thought Friend for Basham made complete sense
  • The second half was much more even as we got more ball in midfield, and the wider back four/five stopped Ebbsfleet hefting through/round the side of Edwards and Tully
  • This allowed Carlisle and Moxey to get forward in wide positions and Wayne threatened at the start of the second half until Opinel realised and collected him in his pocket for the last half-hour
  • After the goal the game turned into midfield scraps, with little of interest
  • Marriott made one shocking error of judgment with Akinde through but fortunately Akinde has a touch that can and does send the ball twenty yards away from him and a shot that misses unguarded nets
  • The referee got more and more petty: having let virtually every 50:50 go in the first half, he then had a two-minute spell where he gave about five dubious free kicks either way
  • Very happy with the point. Well done Tis & the boys

Cut out the racist crap aussie and threating to beat people up over the net comes across as lame, as a rule. Sledger, don't bait/flame other members either, stuff like 'makes these sorts of stupid remarks regulary tbh', isn't acceptable.
WTF is this. Where did i threaten to beat the jackass up?, all i said is if he keeps up his behaviour he is going to get beat up in this life.

Either way i don't take back what i said, i can dig up many posts to back it up, but i'll let it ride as usual once yall moderators do your jobs and keep the fool out of my way on this site.

Back to football...

Interesting performances from some potential & current English players today. James well i must saw i looking very good i was wrong to presume his age may be a factor to look past him but his performance was top-class (yesterday english time), could very well hold down that number 1 spot between now & 2010 once he keeps this form up.

Good to see Matt Taylor getting a game, his definite progress had really been halted when Muntari was signed at Pompey & took his role on the left but i still rate him very highly the more he plays i won't be surprised if he finally comes into the equation for England before the year is out.

Hopefully some decent club can save Heskey & sign him next summer he simply wasted @ Wigan all of his hard work just goes to waste..

Look people who threaten violence on the interweb, even obliquely, should be banned indefinitely IMO.

Its utterly pathetic and kills any argument made in the thread stone dead.

I saw David James slice a backpass out for a corner today. **** off was his performance top class. It was his usual 'good saves but some basic errors in there too'. Scott Carson had a decent game however.

Ha, didn't see that, came home saw his brilliant save at the end, plus the highlights where his performance was the talking point of the match.

Yeah I didn't think he was that special, there was another shot straight at him which he parried and really he could have been punished for that on another day.

As for Carson, only remember him making one save, a typical "for the cameras" save.

GET UP **** YEAAHH.

Long way to go no doubt, but not unhappy so far. Great save from Hart from the Tevez shot.

I case you can't tell, I've had a few brews.

Without Rooney and from a goal down?

Not sure myself.

Anyway, well done both sets of fans for paying 100% respect during the silence

I thought it was very considerate of van der Sar to parry Vassell's original shot, which was heading off wide of the post, back to the striker so that he could have another go.

We're not playing well, and neither did we at Tottenham last week. Wouldn't be surprised if we drop more points, unfortunately.
