I doubt it made too much of a difference to the outcome, but yer sweaties can certainly feel agrieved about Shane Williams's second try. His boot took a ****ing divot out of the ground over the touch line! We coulda done with that TMO aginst the yarps in the WC final...

At least some pride restored in the jersey. Most exciting 20min of international rugby i'v seen ( In my biased opinion :) ) Was rasing the roof off the house towards the end. Hopefully we can play more rugby like this again and keep well clear of the rugby played in the last 8/9 games.

**** me we were dire. If Italy had a hooker who could throw the ball they could well have won it. WTF was Cipriani playing at trying to chip the ball out of defence with 5 minutes left??!!

Forgot all about the Rugger with the footy dominating my thoughts...sounds like another poor second half

You got lucky. :p

We couldn't get hold of the ball, which is awfully un-England like. If Italy has anything like a decent line-out or a fly-half who could actually kick the ball we'd have lost that.

I see Johnny has moved to 1000 international points, well done. Never realised how prolific he'd been before he sprung to fame back in 2003.

Any new names coming out of the 6 Nations this year that we southern dwellers should know about?

Apparently the Welsh have unearthed a new, fresh-faced coach. Warren Gatland, I think his name is...

Not much of a Welsh name though.

Big lad on the wing for us looks useful. Vainikolo, I think? :p

Clerc has been the stand out player so far, but he's hardly a newcomer. He is like **** off a wet shovel tho; seriously fast.

The new French 5/8th Trinh-Duc is one to keep an eye on as far as the newcomers go. Not sure about his kicking game yet, but has a good pass and looks nippy. Our new scrum-half Wigglesworth looked an improvement on Gomarsall, but that says more about the latter's decline since the WC. Or maybe it just means Gomars looks decent playing behind a winning pack, but not so flash we we're coming second up front.

Cipriani has big wraps on him, but his decision-making is questionable, to put it politely.

I've been away but why was Cipriani playing centre? Also his he still shagging a transsexual?

The short answer is that Tindall went off with a lacerated liver () and he was the only back left on the bench save our reverse scrum-half.

Long answer would include the phrase "because Ashton's a short-sighted old ****wit" & point out that we should've moved the rather more robust Vainikolo to outside-centre, whilst relocating Balshaw to the wing (where he's less likely to do any harm, given he can't catch or kick, which makes him almost uniquely poorly qualified to play full-back) & slotting Cipriani in at full-back where he played successfully for Wasps all of last season.

WRT the TS: I don't know, but given he's an ex-public schoolboy, I'd say it's a distinct possibility.
