Uthappa is a far better batsman than Karthik at ODI level, whether batting at the top, middle or lower order. I just cannot see how anything can be argued otherwise.

they say (if it doesnt rain) that lee may be rested
resting Lee won't be a bad option... iidr he has played every game for us this summer... and we have a game on Sunday too after tomorrow...

my team would be if he is rested

Gilchrist+
Hayden
Ponting*
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey
Hopes
Hogg/Noffke (depending on conditions)
Johnson
Bracken
Clark

Karthik is ****ing useless. Worst idea to suggest bringing him in mate.

haven't watched much of this series... Got to see the Gambhir/Rohit partnership and that spell of 4 overs that night...

I guess we will now have a pretty settled top 6 for the rest of this tour, but perhaps there is a case to bring in either Kaif or Raina or even another bowler (Chawla or Praveen Kumar, both of whom can bat a bit, based on their FC stats) instead of Uthappa or Tiwary. Neither strike me as particularly likely to do well in Aussie conditions and neither look like guys who can play well unless they walk in with a decent platform... Not sure either of them are that good in rebuilding an innings, which is one of the things you want your #7 to be able to do if you are going to stack your team with batsmen...

I feel we should play Chawla in the bigger grounds and I think he is more likely to get wickets than Harbhajan...
AWTA now...

Lee won't be rested tomorrow. Not for the SCG. Game after probs, especially if we win it.

yea true just heard that, my bad

would rather him rest tomorrow than sunday though...perhaps coz there wont be play tomoz most likely and the weather is ok for sundee in melb :p

but yea thats a huge game on sunday... we seem to do well at MCG recently so thats good (the cb final v england is always at bak of mind though....collingwood...)

SL need to make some tough selection choices tomorrow. Tharanga's fate should be straightforward. I'd give Maharoof a run - if history has taught us anything it is that Sri Lankan bowlers never all fire on the same day, one will invariably lose the plot. I'd give Vaas tomorrow to prove that he is still a strike bowler, if he can't be effective he has to be let go.

I'm heading up to Syd tomorrow, the forecast says to expect a couple of short showers...wish me luck, I have a feeling I'll need it

I don't mind these early games being washed out actually. It kind of keeps my enthusiasm up for the Series. Without the washouts, I'd have had enough of this woefully protracted series even by now. lol

If it keeps on raining like this, this will end up as the most boring Tri series ever...and given this is the last one...thats a poor way to end it....

But then again, I would rather the games v Australia like today's one gets rained off  as that gives us at least half a chance to make the Finals if we can bet India at least twice...:)

Has been absolutely pissing down pretty much all last week in Sydney, am not confident about getting a result here today.

This is why all international cricket in Australia should be held at the G.

Can't wait till Sunday, should go off.

Meh - produce a decent pitch and it could be. :)

Not raining now, they'll probably get away close to time I reckon.

Most likely it will be like an English football or cricket revival - can't see it lasting.

Haha! :D I think andyc is a DoA fan.

Anyway, dont think I will be able to follow this match, except perhaps the second half online. Should be a good game, with an Australian win at the conclusion of it.

Looks like there might be a short shower later on. Should be no issues getting a result today.

Haha, radio reporting that Vaas has no slips in?? and Hayden edges one to where a 1st slip would have been.....
