Actually, I'm pretty sure he's employed with the brief to be a bit of a cheerleader, just like Tony Greig's brief is to provide the opposing point of view. But yeah, he's an idiot on top of that.

I would have played Suresh Raina. Neither will probably be much use with the bat, but Suresh Raina is an excellent fielder.

Haha yeah, how bad was his rant about having Tendulkar opening? Wonder if he knows that Tendulkar is an opener and pretty much always has been.
He even said "I wonder if Gilchrist would have opened in these conditions." Well yeah, consider he's picked to open the batting in ODIs he plays, I'd say he would...

Betting like that ruins watching the cricket Prince. I love live betting, but stuff like prevents you from sitting back and actually watching the game.

And FFS at Tendulkar stepping on his stumps.

Well, no point in watching this game after that ****ty dismissal. W/ no Yuvraj Tendulkar's abt the only player worth watching in ODI for India. Will be lucky to make 150 now.

Yeah, I don't do it often. Gambhir's odd were too hard to turn down, though. I usually like to have a bet during the Twenty20 games as well to keep me interested, even if they are somewhat random and hard to predict.

Chance for Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwari and Robin Uthappa to show what they are made of.

Come on boys - lets show them.

He's a quality batsman as well. By the way, Gambhir is **** in general in this format but he's playing rather well at the moment.

Oh definitely, it can sometimes make the game interesting.

But I pretty much learnt last year that live betting can sometimes inhibit enjoying what makes cricket great. I remember putting money on Australia during the Chappell-Hadlee in 06/07 when they were playing NZ and defending a ridiculous total AGAIN, after the rpevious game they were chased down. I only did it because the odds were too good and I thought (no way it'd happen again)... and when it did I didn't appreciate how awesome it was because I was all  at losing the bet.

Same thing happened when I'd put money on so and so to be the next wicket, it'd make me wanting the result to happen, and not just sit back and watch the game I love.

Mind you, that Gambhir bet was a good one. Tendulkar looked as solid as anything (and trodding on his stumps looked the only thing he'd go out to), so you'd think Gambhir nicking to the slips whilst Sachin stayed solid was likely. Ah well, sports betting can be fun and a good past time, but it can be so random sometimes as well lol.
