Like the squad. I really only think that Hilfenhaus was lucky to make it, he'll probably be 12th man.

Hilf gets the captain and the PMXI are back in it. Key was taking Bollinger off.

Haha yeah, both were out tbh. Hard to give both maybe, but at least one of them.

Dilshan makes a nice, if slightly chancy 50.

Cameron White takes a wicket.

I wouldn't read too much into the batting. Tharanga had his usual brain freeze outside off-stump (hopefully today sealed his fate to warming the bench for the CB series), Sangakkara and Jayawardene were done with a couple of good deliveries, but Jayasuriya, Silva and Kapugedera just decided to try hit out because the result was inevitable.

It may have been chancy but he showed great intent and constantly put pressure on the bowlers and field. His performance today illustrated exactly why I think he needs to open the batting.

Yeah give TilDil the opening spot. Deserves a decent shot. Have always been a fan and he brings heaps to the fielding too.

Is it really sad and dire that Im supporting Sri Lanka against the PM's XI because the ALP are in power?

Yes, IMO.
Is the reason we're going to lose though tbh.
Yeah, Howard's XI did much better. People should have considered the effect their vote would have on this match more carefully IMO.
What a golden period of Australian cricket 1996 - 2007.

Compare it to 1983 - 1996.

And sure enough, in 2008, we look set for another regression.

Best people IMO.

Can anyone tell me how good MKDI Amerasinghe is?

Good start for him getting Marsh and Pomersbach out so early.
Another victim of the actions of a group of muppets headed by a joker. Five years back, he reached 90mph without much of a problem. He was the first SL bowler thought to have crossed the 150k mark in bowling. If they've given him the contract with SLC, he might never sustained that injury, because he would've got better training facilities. But now he's aged (29 I think) and bit slow (around 83-86mph mark), and SL have lost a real pacy prospect.

He was never really that consistent or even playing regularly for Colts back then. You can't just pick ever player on potential, you have to put some numbers on the board at domestic level first.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Damn, was hoping they'd pick someone new but I guess there really isn't anyone bashing the door down too much.

Reminds me of Dilhara Fernado, was as bad as Amerasinghe to start with, but selectors just kept picking him.

The result doesn't mean ****. Just play everyone who hasn't got a game yet and see how the young guns go. Sharma, Raina and Tiwary can split four overs, not a big deal. By the way, would that be the best fielding side in the history of Indian cricket? Put Munaf at deep third man and yes, IMO.
