D. Hussey, maybe depending on the Canberra outing, would be the first cab off the rank should Ponting not be right, or another one of the first XI go down? It was Hodge previously, but can't be anymore surely?
Katich, IMO.

EDIT: Assuming you meant for the test team, which thinking about it, you probably didn't.

its highly unlikey that dilshan will open, and i dont think kapu will get a game in first few games. Welegedara is a possibile starter.
I think DIlshan will take Kapus place and Tharanga will open with Sana.
Yeah I know its unlikely but I have herd the idea thrown around before. Also the team I listed was for the PM's IX not for the entire ODI series. But Tharanga needs to go, Perera is a better option at the top.

My spies in the inner sanctum inform me that DHussey and BHodge have both been picked for Friday night...

PM XI vs Sri Lanka is on.

PM XI 1/51 (9.4 overs)

Interesting that Pomersbach is in at 3, thought Phil Hughes should have been.

Can anyone tell me how good MKDI Amerasinghe is?

Good start for him getting Marsh and Pomersbach out so early.

I think Voges would (and should be) be ahead of Hussey for the ODI team. Could be wrong though.

Feel like Hughes and Pomers should've been swapped in the batting order. Dire stuff here, am very disappointed. :(

Is it really sad and dire that Im supporting Sri Lanka against the PM's XI because the ALP are in power?

Yes, IMO.

Yeah, Howard's XI did much better. People should have considered the effect their vote would have on this match more carefully IMO.
What a golden period of Australian cricket 1996 - 2007.

Compare it to 1983 - 1996.

And sure enough, in 2008, we look set for another regression.

He is pretty decent. The pitch is very bowler friendly though. But he much better than when I saw him a few years back. He runs in hard, hits the deck and gets a bit of outswing. He's in the high 130s km/h and got a few to go through at 140. He reminds me a bit of a Bichel or Sidebottom, not in substance but as a real whole hearted bloke who puts in a 100% every ball.

Also, he looks like Ajith Agarkar and Tillakaratne Dilshan's lovechild. Safe to say he and Bolinger are duking it out for the ugliest on ground.

I still rate Chanaka Welegedara much higher as a bowler.

They weren't likely to drop him after he took 3 wickets in the last T20.

Thanks looking forward to seeing him in action.
