International Debutant
My squad would be as follows:

01. Sanath Jayasuriya
02. Tillakaratne Dilshan
03. Kumar Sangakkara
04. Mahela Jayawardene
05. Chamara Silva
06. Chamara Kapugedera
07. Farveez Maharoof
08. Chaminda Vaas
09. Lasith Malinga
10. Chanaka Welegedara
11. Muttiah Muralitharan
its highly unlikey that dilshan will open, and i dont think kapu will get a game in first few games. Welegedara is a possibile starter.
I think DIlshan will take Kapus place and Tharanga will open with Sana.

hopes showed brilliant form yesterday. Certainly australia's next odi opener imo. Hit 115 odd off 90 or so balls opening, and took 3 wickets against tassie.

I don't think players get dropped for 20/20 games considering the Aussies use it more as a pick players they want to look at in the international arena.

It'll be very interesting to see how Hogg bounces back from what would've been a confidence sapping Test series. I think a good game or two against SL is important, and hopefully he can use the confidence from that to come back against India.

Adelaide: The threat of India refusing to participate in an upcoming tri-series in Australia once again looms large.

The Indian team management, it is learnt, is adamant it will not settle for anything less than an acquittal for Harbhajan Singh, who was slapped with a three-Test ban for racially abusing Andrew Symonds during the second Test in Sydney. The hearing will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The tri-series, also featuring Sri Lanka, is scheduled to start on February 3.

Justice John Hansen, who has been appointed Commissioner for Harbhajan's appeal against the ban, said on Monday morning that there is fresh evidence in the form of the transcripts of the stump microphone, which is now the bone of contention.

The Indian team management is questioning why the evidence was not presented in the first hearing, claiming that the evidence could have been doctored. It says it will not play in the tournament if the racial slur on Harbhajan is not removed.

On the other hand, Australia are not willing to back down on the charges.

Justice Hansen, spelled out the procedure to be adopted in the case earlier in the day. He addressed the media at the Adelaide Oval where he briefed them on the procedure.

He has confirmed the hearing will be held in private and all available video evidence and transcripts of the stump microphone, that was not available to Mike Procter, would be used before taking a decision.

The charge against Harbhajan was laid by Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson after the close of play on day three of the second Test, after a complaint from Australia captain Ricky Ponting.

BTW srilanka had a game on the weekend against bankstwon got 270 odd, bankstown in reply got 230 odd corey richards top scored.

Yeah I agree with this. I have a feeling he's going to struggle against India now in the ODIs. Australia will probably pick an all pace attack more often then not.

I really hope Voges get a bit of a run this series, I reckon it's time to step up.

I don't really like the idea of Dilshan opening batting, but seeing Tharanga fail game after game I am wondering whether Dilshan could've done better.

I think we'll give Ponting and Hayden a rest in the Twenty20. I think they're carrying niggles. It'll be a good time to give Dave Hussey a go. I'm almost certain that he'll play in the team on Feb 1. T20 should be a load of fun, can't wait for it.

As for the CBS, I have a feeling that we're going to rotate our bowlers pretty often. The 5 bowlers in the squad will be Hogg, Bracken, Lee, Johnson and Tait. Not just for the sake of giving everyone a game, but the fact we've got a ridiculous amount of cricket coming up should also come into it. The 'full strength' team will be:

Hayden
Gilchrist
Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey
Hopes
Hogg
Lee
Bracken
Tait

I agree, but I would have Yuvraj at three instead of Rohit and I would have Harbhajan instead of Chawla.

If the BCCI fails to accept the appeal decision and jacks up about it, then let 'em go home imo. It will be sad, but how far can this go on?

CA must also accept it if it gets overturned.

BARNES OUT
Why? All his form has been in the 4 day arena.
It's common knowledge that players are tested out in OD cricket for Australia before being put into the test side. Dorey, etc. The selectors see the OD tri-series as a place to test some new blood, and there's absolutely no doubt Noffke will be close to getting a game or two in the coloured clothes.

RTDAS
Yeah, to get international experience which counts for a hell of a lot. Smart move imo.

Anyways, if worst comes to worst and India pull out of the ODIs what would the deal be? There's still SL, but would they try and get another side down or just rearrange the whole schedule? I doubt it will come to that, but still.
