How Are You Doing On CM?

We'll make it 08 or 07 that can be used, as there isn't many big differences between the two. Will probably do mine on 08, will be waiting for the new patch though.

If you're going to use the yardstick as winning the Champions League, then all the major European leagues need to be played otherwise it will be too easy.

And a swift return to bottling things, failure to win any of my last five games saw me miss out on the automatic promotion spots on goal difference, I then predictably lost the play-off final, though at least this time it was a royal hammering rather than penalties.

Started out in League 1 with Aldershot and made a decent enough start. Turned down an offer to manage USA and promptly found myself approached to manage Aston Villa in the Premiership. Decided I couldn't really turn it down and so I made the transition to the top league, with a decent enough squad of players. Luis Fabiano, Kiessler, Craig Gordon, Flamini, Downing, Shaun Wright-Phillips... I'm in 4th around Christmas time, with some good players due to come in at the opening of the transfer window.

Haha, finally won a play-off. About time. Shall play United next season in the Championship, they've been relegated.

In other news, Newcastle ended their long wait for a title after breaking the Liverpool/Portsmouth stranglehold. Masterminded by an ageing Adrian Boothroyd, who's done a brilliant job wherever he's been.

Which team are you?

Gah, accidentally deleted my saved game, but thankfully I hadn't gotten far.

Started a new game with Mansfield.

Finished 7th in my first season with Aston Villa and have worked my way through qualifying into the group stage of the Uefa Cup. We've been something of an enigma thus far this season though (7 games in) - we've won 2, drawn 3 and lost 2. The games we've won, we've won well and against decent opposition, but the games we've drawn and lost have generally been quite poor performances.

After several seasons of anonymous mid-table finishes I've just made it to the Premiership. Wins in the last 9 league games saw me sneak into 6th place, and the good form continued in the play-offs as I never looked like losing. Unsure how I'll go next year, my side looks quite good on paper but it looks as if I'm going to lose my star player and resources are very low.

EDIT: Shall be playing in a higher league than Arsenal and Chelsea, who both got relegated. The Liverpool/Portsmouth dominance has been over for a while now (Newcastle are currently celebrating their third succesive PL crown, the previous two have been doubles). In fact Newcastle have won five of the last six titles, the only interjection being what now looks like it will be Portsmouth's last title for a long time.

Got relegated on the last day of the season. Ridiculously unlucky, but anyway I resigned, pissed off. Now trailing the Tottenham job, who narrowly avoided relegation at my expense. Could also have gone for Liverpool, but I'm not doing that am I?

Into September in my first season with Mansfield. Currently sitting 3rd on the ladder with only the 1 loss in the first 6 games of the season. Unfortunately went out in the first round of the League cup to Norwich 2-1. Their 2nd game in injury time, ****s.

Started a new game, managing the mighty Altrincham FC. Got a link up with Bolton, which is handy, as i've nabbed James Sinclair, Harsanyi and some Polish keeper i'm not gonna even try and type on loan for the year, plus some half decent freebies. 1st match had 9 debutants, won 3-1 against Aldershot, so fingers crossed for the year.

really hoping that the new patch for FM08 is good, if it sorted everything out it would be a great game, if they dont i doubt i'll play it again, stupidly SI are having to work on putting a patch together for a game which is nearly 6 months old rather than developing on FM09.... Would love to play it more regularly, but in its current state I just cant bare it... I've actually gone back to playing FM06 for a while.....fingers crossed for a good patch soon...
