Has two FC 50s, tbfTait's no great shakes though is he?

The man can play a cover drive though.Ah, Simon Jones-esque.
(Never seen so many people fooled by a slog-filled innings as they were by Jones' 44 in his maiden Test innings.)
True, but even he isnt terrible. He's mighty strong and can hit the ball a country mile and has a couple of FC 50's.Tait's no great shakes though is he?.
Not a patch on Martin's.The man can play a cover drive though.
Only?It seems NZ can only produce good tail end batsmen lately.
Can I just say England have NO good tailenders coming through really ... some of the worst ever maybe??
And also a severe lack of allrounders as well!
Couple of spinners who can hold a bat might come into the selectors thoughts this year. There's Rashid at Yorkshire, obviously & a bloke by the name of Saqlain down at Surrey....Yeah, have been thinking that for a year or so myself.
Yes, I quite agree. Arguably in the 2nd test with a 8-11 of Hogg, Lee, Johnson & Clark Australia were playing with no tailenders.PS - Lower order batsman =/ Tail ender.
Not to mention the man who is currently England's second choice spinner...Couple of spinners who can hold a bat might come into the selectors thoughts this year. There's Rashid at Yorkshire, obviously & a bloke by the name of Saqlain down at Surrey....
He'd be batting 8 for us.Clark is definitely a tailender by any man's definition. A good one, yes, but a tailender all the same.
So would I though. He'd be batting 8 for us.
That raises a point, actually. With Fletcher in charge the ability to wield the willow with at least some degree of adequacy seemed to be a pre-requisite for his spinners. Guys like Batty, Dawson, Udal & Blackwell all got a go when Keedy, who's a batter bowler than any on a bad day but a non-batsman, was consistently ignored. Swann was only overlooked because he (apparently) blotted his copybook when picked for our tour to SA in 99/00.Not to mention the man who is currently England's second choice spinner...
He does indeed, bowls off the 'wrong' foot, like Mike Procter used to do. Pretty mediocre though, weird action aside. This dude. IIRC he has a weird-ass bowling action.
