***Official*** India in Australia

Ok, simple now for the Aussies, here are the requirements:

Clarke: Staying in is a must, make your way to a century and beyond, play shots when required but also be very cautious, tomorrow's a full day.

Mitchell Johnson & co: Leave everything well outside off and defend anything on the stumps. Avoid getting forward to the spinners and give as much strike as possible to Michael Clarke.

Craig:Tell me when you're ready for a new avatar, mate. No, seriously.

Far out silenstriker, you might think you are a realist or whatever, but alot of the time you are very anti-India in your own way.

Fine batting by Clarke, but it's good to see India march towards victory.

Well done India on a thoroughly deserved Test win. Out batted, bowled and fielded Australia and to do it when pretty much everyone wrote them off must be extra special for their fans.

I think the real difference between the two teams for this match was India playing like a team, especially their bowling attack, how they all contributed and never gave the Australians any respite. Australia on the other hand were carrying too many passengers in this match and the workload fell on too few. Lee and Clark had to carry the bowling and the middle order had carry the openers.

It’s been a great match and even though it might not show it on the score card, just like Sharma’s stats wont show his true contribution in this innings, those of us who watched will know we’ve been privileged to see one of the best in recent times and the junkies can stick their numbers where the sun…

Can’t wait for Adelaide, tbh.

Btw, would any Indian not rate this win higher than the Twenty20 win?

One final point and I’ve harped on about it, but it’s one of the great tragedies of this series – lack of preparation. Look at the facts – Melbourne, India do well first innings, looking good but ultimately undercooked and loose in the end. Sydney, stand toe to toe with Australia, looking much more acclimatized got unlucky could have won, probably a draw, Perth – near peak performance, win. Now shift that over with a few practice matches pre Melbourne and you could have had the win first match coming into peak performance at exactly the right time. Not only could we have had an Indian series win, but more importantly we could have seen one of the greatest series in modern times.

I think we’ve been robbed, tbh.

What match were you watching mate?
He was in all kinds of trouble against sharma, out twice already before getting out finally.
I didn't really watch it, tbh.

Had it on in the background at work.

Just assumed he looked good.

If he keeps bowling like that for the next ten years, I guarantee you that his stats will reflect his performances.

I think Australia are too good to hope for this type of stuff, let alone expect it. But I've always advocated 2-3 warm up games and I think at least Adelaide would have been closer (though Aussies still would have won it - it was a thumping).

If you're referring to the batting then the 'fact' is that they scored 196. Only 45 more than what they scored in the second innings.
The board messed up that match,India till then had no match practice batting or bowling on aussie tracks till then.
Yes the pitch was a slow one,but india was coming from playing on absolutely dead tracks against pakistan. The aussie planning in that match was great bowlingwise.

First innings of the match, Australia cruising at 1-150 odd then India did excellently to come right back into the match. You rarely see Australia make such a good start and then not capitalise on it. It's a no-pressure situation that Australia's middle order thrive on and for India to come back at that point was a little taste of things to come.

Anybody else think Kumble is seriously overbowling himself. Love the guy, but give one of the seamers a go for reverse swing. Or even Tendulkar who can turn it more than Kumble.

I've got hope that even if these bat for a while the new ball will change things if we need it.
