In hindsight does it look like a bad decision to drop Hogg (or not play a front line spinner at all)? as the pitch is looking awfully flat ATM.
But if poor old Hoggy couldn't get wickets day 5 in Sydney, what's he gonna do here by way of taking wickets? Variation would be handy mind.

Yeah he bowled rubbish in India's 2nd dig @ Sydney but anyone can have bad day.

But has he been dropped on the basis of what happend @ Sydney or because of the expected pace & bounce from the WACA pitch suiting the Quick bowlers?

I reckon the latter tbh.

I reckon however if Hogg had gotten 5 and bowled Australia to victory in Sydney rather than Clarke and Symonds, he'd be playing today and Tait would be in for Johnson.

Here's this 7-2 field again for Johnson - hardly encouraging him to attack the stumps...

People forget Hoggs classy 79 IMO, Yes he's picked for his batting blah blah.

Symonds on now, always bowls well at the WACA.

Australia seem to have done well to slow the run rate down after drinks. India need to be careful here. 126/2 can very quickly become 133/4 if they get too bogged down.

Yeah you are right but Australians have hardly looked like picking a wicket, anyways i hope they have done some good work on the ball and kept one side shiny and other rough, because after 50 or 55 overs if reverse swing starts to take place, then Taity could be really dangerous.

Can't really commentate about the actual play, haven't been watching, just following on Cricinfo. But it did seem like a sudden dry period of runs.

Dravid and Tendulkar changing that now however.
