Dale Steyn fined 10% of his match fee. BTW where does the fines go, to charity or somewhere else?

Guess thats why it is 10% then.

In other news, I've just been looking at some of the SA domestic scorecards and I was suprised to see Philander open the bowling for his team. I mainly checked to see how Zondeki's form is, but I never knew that Philander was an opening bowler. Can someone tell me what speeds he bowls at, if my mind serves me right, he didn't seem all that impressive during the 20/20 WC, let alone look like an opening bowler.

So is this another fast-bowler that SA can groom, or is he an Ian Harvey type of opening bowler.

Pretty much fast/medium...130kph

He's probably a better test bowler so that's something he needs to work on. I actually prefer Albie Morkel. He has a fantastic batting record in first-class matches.

Just speaking to my brother who was at the game yesterday and he told me Marlon Samuels’s action has been reported by the umpires. Have not seen anything on the net as yet but he is fairly accurate with those sorts of things.

Harvey. Opened the bowling out of necessity and the wicket was green.

Justin Ontong recalled...

Good to see Morne Mørkel back in the side.
Why.. the hell has been Ontong recalled, hasn't the quota system been scraped from South African sports??
As far as Morkel is concerned, yeah he is a good talent and now with Pollock being pushed out of the scene, its upto the likes of him and Steyn to carry the South African attack now.

It's not about what you know, it's who you know. That can only explain his recall. If you're going to recall anyone, why not Martin Van Jaarsveld or Andy Puttick or Dippies with an average of 42.

I'm usually confused about the selection choices anyways. Johan Botha, JP Duminy for ODIs. They don't make sense.
