The fuss started in the immediate aftermath, in fact before the game had even finished. Yes, we know Shep was shown his mistakes straight after the match; yes, he'd have been upset even if no-one had said anything.
But there's no way he'd have considered retirement if no-one was ever going to make any fuss at all.
As usual you're just waffling around the houses attempting to make out you had a valid point having posted utter crap. He was shown his mistakes, felt he'd let himself and everyone else down and considered retiring because of it. That's all there is to his retirement story. I'm not going around in circles any more arguing, so if you want to believe that means you're right then so be it.
In fact I think I'll introduce another alert for just such occasions as there are so many.
