Australia now officially ahead in the match. I don't really see India winning now, unless the Aussies collapse (doubtful).
Australia have lost wickets in a heap against India so far this series, so even at 2/100 odd (lead, not score), if they were to lose 3 quick ones on resumption India are back on top. They can definitely bowl Australia out for a 200 Indian chase here. But, anything above 250 will be hard for India.

Never thought I'd have to type this, but Ricky Ponting has become the Daryl Cullinan to Bhajji's Shane Warne. Bizarre how one bowler has managed to exert such a grip over a batsman who's dominated so many other good bowlers.

I think if the Aussies get 300, maybe even 280, ahead, they'll declare and back themselves to bowl the Indians out. They'll risk losing the match to keep their streak alive, with the idea that they'll be able to secure the series win at Perth and Adelaide, which might suit the Indian team less. Would never normally do it, but they will here I think.

If the Aussies win this match, it will be something of a shame as the Indians have received a lot of bad luck/bad umpiring calls in this match. I've previously been saying "these things even out" and I do believe that, but there have been so many this match that an Aussie win would be a bit of an injustice. How Hussey wasn't out LBW to Kumble is a mystery. This has been easily the worst umpired match I've seen. Which is a shame, because despite that (and the Bhajji-Symonds fiasco), there's actually been some fantastic cricket played as well.

anywho 2/105 at tea
excellent session by Aussies... followed up by a good session by India in the first session...
the arm wrestle continues!!!!!! it's see sawing all the way this match

anywho i think massive massive credit should go to Hayden and Hussey.. Harbhajan and Kumble getting the ball to spit off the rough and so much batsmen around the bat... not easy at all...
they were lucky though, i thought Huss was a dead duck to one he kept back to and Kumble extracted uneven bounce..

but it would be perfect if they batted till stumps...that would give us an oppotunity to set a target actually ...and this pitch aint easy to bat on now..
i think at most we can lose 2 wickets in this session.... be 4/250 (effectively)

many questioned Huss's ability to bat outside of Australia (well mainly in subcontinent conditions) but i think he can do well on the basis of today.. it is pertty similar this SCG pitch definately... low and turning and spitting against quality spin bowlers
