C'paul's fifty comes of 184 balls! Great test cricket that is!

And you learn something new every day: I never knew a new ball could be taken in the midst of an over, but Smith has just done so, after 80.2 overs with the first ball.

didn't I pay attention, or is this a fairly rare thing?
It happens all the time these days. Bowlers look to try one or two with the old ball - "looseners" - then take the new one.

300 should be a good target with a decent bowling attack on this pitch.

Unfortunately, I am not quite sure which WI bowling attack will turn up....

Was watching and dozed off after hearing a wicket falling, which I now find out was Samuels. Just woke up and I saw Steyn on a hattrick. Man.

Why would you bring in a guy who averages 388 per test wicket in a crucial match like this. He better perform with the ball, because Sammy is so unlucky to not be playing in this match.

A golden duck when support with Chanderpaul was needed was a terrible start. He's made my list now also.

Yeah, last over.

SS,

Slowly isn't going to work at this stage. He needs to farm the strike and focus on scoring a four an over.

Yeah, last over.

Well, its the last couple overs which they need to get through. Tomorrow morning, I'm sure he will. The problem is he can't do anything when you lose two wickets per over. I think he has been decent at trying to farm the strike.

When there were technical difficulties with the Sky broadcast, it allowed Colin Croft to spout his usual genius.

Croft: Samuels was playing well, but he got a terrific ball from Ntini.

Seconds later...

Croft: Bravo is so inconsistent and just prodded at the ball. He didn't look capable and up to it.

Or something of the sort. The delivery that Bravo got was quite a good one to a new batsman. It was better, IMO, than the one that got Samuels - the set batsmen. Croft is clueless at analysis really.
