Kaneria (Should he be given a bit prolonged chance in the Pak ODI squad)?

Upon hearing Kaneria's inclusion in the squad Rameez said "It's a great move" . Welcome to my club Mr Raja . Although it was too early ......

I read a statement of Abdul Qadir who advocated inclusion of Rehman in place of Danish saying that rehman was better with the ball, bat and as a fielder than Danish.

I think Danish will play first matcha gainst the WI (as Afridi) will miss it, and if Danish gets hammered like he always does then it might be his last match of WC, and after that he can say goodbuy to OD cricket and stop whining and behaving like a victim.

If my memory serves me right, the selectors clearly wanted to give a more deserving all round leggie in Mansoor Amjad a chance in OD cricket, it was none other than Inzi who stood against it as he thought that Danish would feel insecure.Inzamam has all along been a die hard supporter of Danish, its just that Danish always came up with nightmarish figures in OD matches otherwise he would have been in the team.

Kudus to Indian selectors for giving young blood a chance, guys like Ramesh Powar,UThapa, Chawla & Raina were tried and most of them were a success.In contrast Pakistan never give exposure to its emerging players and kept faith of tried and tested failed one's.Under 19 WC heroes like Anwar Ali and Jamshed were never tried, they surely wouldn't have done worse than Mohd Sami. Mansoor Amjad and Shahid Yousuf are two other cricketers that should have been given a chance at international level

Pc the f'in b = Dumb guys ! They did listen to me , but incompletely . I sure said that Kaneria should be in the side but think a thousand times before sending him to the WC ........
So far my stances and prophecies (Things that I have been publicly backing up and my predictions)
1. Shortage of ODI overs (Partially fulfilled and actually they messed it up by introducing a T20 version)
2. Shoaib Akhtar = legend (status=fulfilled)
3. Pak - Eng series = results unacceptable (status=fulfilled)
4. disaster prediction upon watching Hair (status=fulfilled)
5. My stance was to sack him (status=fulfilled)
6. Shoaib Akhtar be sent to SA (status=fulfilled)
7. Kaneria to be picked up in the squad . (status=fulfilled but dumb guys picked him up so so so quickly and should have waited for the end of WC)
8. I*** = vague captain (fulfilled)
9. Younis = future disaster as a captain , (status=in progress)
10. SS = future legend of cricket media (status=wtf)
11. Shoaib to be set free (status=fulfilled)
12. PCB = worst performing board (status=in progress)

Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar. I'd say he was their 4th best bowler at the moment (not too sure about the injury status on these players, but as far as I know they are all fit and healthy).

Averaging almost 34 over an entire Test career is poor, especially considering that figure jumps to 37.09 when you exclude the cheap wickets he has taken against Bangladesh. He doesn't bring much else to the field either, as his batting and fielding are poor too.

What's more, when you consider that early in his career he showed promise, and indeed delivered in a variety of different circumstances, he has been hugely, hugely disappointing in doing virtually nothing of note of late.

The same flaws that were apparent that needed to be eradicated have never gone away: lack of patience (despite good skills with accuracy that have been demonstrated often enough) and lack of a sufficiently large-wripped Leg-Break. Only since he has been dicking around with his action and trying to bowl six different types of balls an over. Kaneria, up until about 2005 was a really talented spinner, who could be wicket taker or dry up an end up for days but unfortunately he can't even do that now.

That’s a bit of a fallacy which Kaneria himself has also been putting about. He had two rather spin friendly wickets when he faced the South Africans and was a real disappointment, as these figures would suggest...

i will keep it simple.. pakistan doesn't need a spacialist spiner.. in pace attack like shoaib, asif, gul if pakistan play afridi and malik as part time spiners... the seamers have the ability to do much better than kaneria or any other spacialist spiner..

also kaneria has been out of form for awhile.. he needs to play more domastic cricket and come back to his form..

he is a test bowler.. he can't be a one day bowler for the reasons that he can't take wickets or bowle good untill he hasn't bowled more than 15 or 20 overs.. we see him rerely geting a wicket before his 15th or 20 overs.. in one day he is going to get to bowle only 10 overs and he doesn't seem to get in to line and length in that many overs..

ODI is a different ball game and it's relatively easier to get wickets in the ODIs .

I agree. I seriously thought he was as good as Kumble( maybe even better) and just behind Shane Warne during the last ENG tour of Pakistan.


But my opinion has changed, I think he is the worst player to have played as many games as he has so far, worse than Afridi, Nazir, Hafeez combined, hahaha
