FFS. Wouldn't want to be Chappell's cobbler with the number of boots he's slipped in this year.
Unfortunately all the crap that Australia get proves this theory wrong.you cant knock success
Clearly the BCCI should take note of it when they decide to make Gary Kirsten the scapegoat for any poor performances India might put out under his tenure, not realising they are the ones that hired him (rant over)Chappeli's daughter could have done a better job but what about his brother?
Haha, true. Tall poppy syndrome at it's worst when it comes to our cricket team.Unfortunately all the crap that Australia get proves this theory wrong.
ooohhh..boo hooHaha, true. Tall poppy syndrome at it's worst when it comes to our cricket team.
It's true though. People constantly find fault with Australia purely because they are the best.ooohhh..boo hoo
Bracewell's an easy scapegoat due to the fact that he doesn't really seem to have a clue, but the problems lie much deeper than the coach, whether people would like to admit it or not. It's not like there's a brilliant domestic competition in place in New Zealand that churns out multitudes to test standard players only for Bracewell to ruin them - nor is he responsible for the scheduling of so little tests. There may be better options but I really don't think he's at the heart of the problem, and I think a lot of posters on this forum would be surprised at the distinct lack of change in results (and even selection issues) if Bracewell's head rolled.Like how Chappell said that the captain is 95% important, the coach 5%.
Well, in NZ cricket, it is sadly the opposite :-(
NZ cricket was at its best in the Fleming-Albahert partnership IMO.
Are you referring to Sinclair in ODIs? He actually did a decent job of that in South Africa. And when Hopkins seems to be the alternative, it was probably a fair call. Are their ODI lower middle order batsmen banging down the door in New Zealand who are better than Sinclair? Probably not. There's also very little evidence to suggest it was Bracewell's idea as he's never been a fan of Sinclair from what I've read - it could quite well have been Vettori's idea, or the selectors (y'know, that group of guys who sit down and pick the squads that Bracewell always gets the criticism for?)Well stop batting openers or number 3s at 7 will always be a start now would it?
Weren't you the one who said New Zealand should stop picking top order players to bat 7? Now you're against his dropping? Anyway, Hopkins had to be picked because McCullum had a niggle and wasn't fit to keep, but was still fit to bat. Someone had to go, so they decided it be Sinclair given he was due to come in at 7 anyway and was short of runs on tour. I really don't have many issues with that, and I'm a big Sinclair fan.Craig said:So why was he made the scapegoat for the loss in Adelaide by being dropped for Sydney?
Logic? It's quite possible that some people rate him while others don't..If Bracewell doesn't rate him, then the selectors/Vettori don't so
No I was asking a question. I would of replaced How instead.Weren't you the one who said New Zealand should stop picking top order players to bat 7? Now you're against his dropping? It isn't surprising though that Chappell will back Warne since they are pretty much similar type of people personality wise, and they both bag Steve Waugh as well. Good post BTW.It’s not even what they’re saying that I have a problem with. They both think Buchanan’s idea is stupid. Fair enough. I agree. Chappell thinks the influence a coach has on a team is over-rated. Again, fair call. But they have to make it personal. They have to make snide remarks like ‘my daughter’ and ‘pixie-land’. Don’t they realise the only person who they’re making look bad is themselves? My low opinion of both as people is constantly confirmed by the petty rubbish that comes out of their mouths.
