Aussies'll be gutted with that effort. Their string of wicket taking overs comes to an end.

And there's not even any Macca to get us out of jail this year. Sniff.

Wide outside off stump, Taylor heaves it towards leg. That ball could have so easily carried towards a fielder. Don't know what New Zealand are doing here.

For some reason, Taylor seems to have completely dumped his repertoire of off side shots against quick bowlers, in favour for the heave to leg.

I'm not surprised at this TBH. Batsmen all over the order, no Sinclair or Fulton and a highly ustable top order. We know McCullum is in the Jayasuria/Gilchrist role and can't be expected to score a hundred every game and Vincent is in the same role and he's out of form. Then we have the able but inexperienced young opener at 3! Idiocy. Then there's Hopkins....

McCullum
How
Sinclair
Fulton
Taylor
Styris
Oram
Adams
Mills
Vettori
Martin (ouch it hurt to say that)

Coach: Wright

Maybe the rain will save us?

If I may ask, what is Hopkins doing in the side? I dont see the point in playing 2 keepers in an ODI especially when one of them (from what little I have seen of him) does not seem to be all that flash a bat. Is Sinclair injured or something? Or was he just dropped?

But this batting order is just plain weird, unsettled and unbalanced as...

(Also, its time Vincent was dropped)

Edit/ Just read the last 4 pages and see that no-one knows why Hopkins was selected. Another case of Bracewellitis it seems...

Not Terrible
Well thats what McCullums there for. His was an acceptable loss.

Vincent you ****.

How obviously tried to be a little to 'aggressive'.

But FFS Patel's in the side and we in all likelihood would struggle to break 200.

Damn you NZ, damn you.

Now I think Vincent should be dropped, he's be in bad touch and I think after a while he will come good but it's just painful at the moment.

Why are we playing Hopkins? Sinclair is the man we need in this scenario, FFS or Fulton I miss Fulton.

Hope to see a great rear guard movement here making this into a match as opposed to a slaughter.

Jeets 35 (30)
and 10-1-38-4

Heard it here first.

Fiery opening burst from Aussies. Kiwis will be stewed unless Styris plays a long, long innings.

Hmm just got home and am watching a replay of the Twenty20 the other night. According to Cricinfo the weather doesn't seem too flash which is a shame. With NZ 3/30 maybe thats not such a bad thing - a wash out and we only need to win the one remaining game to retain the trophy. :p

Forgive me if it's been said already, but why is Fulton not on the tour?

Is it injury, form, or coach related?
