Really looking forward to seeing Mills bowl tbh. Reckon he'll nail Gilchrist early.

Not Terrible
Yeah as skeptical I am of our chances on this tour the team could look much worse.

Heck plus Fulton, Bond and Franklin this is a very decent NZ squad IMO.

So who's going to miss out? Martin or Patel would be where it comes down too. And I really think it should be Patel, Martin is just cannon fodder in this format.

Patel in according to Vettori. Thinks it will suit spinners.

Using spinners in the T20 format is a very smart move because they can be very effective in this form of the game as they don't provide the batsmen with much pace to work hence making it hard for the batsmen to manufacture shots.

Cricketer Of The Year
Reports from Australia that there was rain today and that play could be delayed by up to an hour...according to Radio Sport. :(

5.10pm "Everyone, including the players, are very excited about what lies ahead," says Adam Gilchrist and he's not wrong. "This time last year I was a bit of a sceptic, but having been to a world championship and seen the popularity, I think this, in combination with fifty-over cricket is going to be a very important combination." He also let slip that Clarke is "very very nervous about it [captaining], but I think we have got a skipper in the making."

5.30pm Toss news just in - Michael Clarke has won and chosen to bat first, possibly with a nod to the showers that are forecast.

mm glad we're batting first

Hope it doesn't rain. Am looking forward to watching a bit of cricket, even if it is 20/20.
