EDITED: probably best not in view of what I recently promised the forum about not getting into slanging-matches with idiots.
Well done for stopping but calling him an idiot just invites him to respond with something else and it continues on from there.

 If you were even ever capable of "getting me" once you'd still be stupid." I've just re-joined the ever growing band who can't be bothered with your drivel. I've humoured you long enough and congratulate those who continue to do so. Like all cranks you're deluded into believing people admire you for being different when in truth your objects of ridicule.
Lillian, you should know better than this. Was it really necessary to respond with a post like this? What purpose does it serve exactly?

I honestly don't see the point of these petty arguments that turn into childish name calling. I can't see why we can't all be above it. I'm sure I speak for 99% of people when we're all here to discuss cricket in a friendly/controlled environment and that's how it should be.

And lastly, well done to Archie and JBH001 for accepting what they did was wrong and the both of them having the guts to apologise for it.

IOW, "not much that can be said there, you've got me YET AGAIN".
Richard, the first and best thing that you can do is stop being so concerned about winning or losing arguments over the internet.

Failing this, everyone, just let him think he's won.

It's really not a case of winning and losing - it's simply a case of having a strong distaste for "oh, I'm getting bored of reading your drivel"-style posts, often characterised by containing the Yawn or Sleep smilies.

The best response is to patronise, IMO. Either way, as I say, I'll do my best to avoid doing it from now on.

Whatever it takes!!!
And where did I say my posts were or have ever been???

Oh you mean like 'Richards should not be considered an all time great' or 'Lillee is a greentop bully'8-)
not u in this thread... it is the other person. But u were defending him and so I replied to you. That's all.

And yes, at the end of the day, these are two threads and one is a "tribute" thread and by definition is meant to pay tributes to the player and generally, as a matter of decency, we tend to make sure the critics can tell their tales in the other threads abt the said person than his personal tribute thread. And in the other thread, the thread starter had specifically requested that the legality his action NOT be discussed and that it was only abt his record as such... Again, not too much to expect people to go down that road. This is now similar to Lara V Tendulkar and Murali V Warne posts, that they are getting way too repetitive and that a perfect conclusion CANNOT be reached and that neither party are gonna change their opinions... So, we are saying that let us not do the same thing in every thread that has something to do with Warne or Murali or spinners....

Now why does that sound so familiar :)
