The bowling looks a bit vulnerable going on past experience of bloody Chappel Hadlee games. Problem is so does ours. If we dare play Martin i think Australia will finally amass a total we can't even get near.
Tait & Johnson are better bowlers than they were last CH series, and this time we're on home soil, our bowling attack looks nothing like being vulnerable for mine.

Yeah agreed. I think Australias bowling unit has become a lot better in ODI's since the World Cup. NZ will probably find it very tough against them all.

As tempting as it is to point you n the direction of Oram's 101*, I won't because not even our batsmen can chase 500, which looks highly likely if we play Martin AND O'Brien.

Seriously, bat first, hope Vincent does his typical annihalate Australia only but crap against everyone else and hope we don't have to rely on Hopkins.

AWTA! Johnson, Tait and even Hogg to some extent are much improved bowlers now as compared to the last C-H series.

I am really starting to rate Pomersbach he seems to a gun talent and Hussey is batting like he always does!

Can someone tell me how to say that? He sounds Anglo-German

Btw if i was a Black cap supporter i won't lose hope yet and still back my team to chase this target because the CA XI's bowling attack looks seriously dire.

Giving him a rest I imagine. Plus his spot in the side isn't under a question mark, unlike Martin, Gillespie, Mason, Patel or O'Brien.

O'Brien seriously has to be one of the worst players we've had for a long time. He's a classic Kiwi domestic bowler but a terrible international bowler. He's had his moment to represent his country and failed. I actually feel sorry for him, but he shouldn't be in the side ahead of more deserving players.

Gillespie I simply think isn't a limited overs bowler. Did great on his test debut and I think he'll be a great specialist in that area but I don't think his style will cut it in ODI's.

Mason is a bit odd. IMO he has great control though a bit one dimensional, but I think he has the potential to bowl better spells than Gillespie or Martin in limited overs.

However Jetan Patel should play ahead of all of them. I've long thought two spinners in ODI's is a great way to keep runs down and create pressure (always thought Sri Lanka did this superbly). Patel looks as though he can take wickets where Vettori can only keep it tight.

I think, forgetting Bond because lets face it he spends more timed injured than not, our best bowling attack would be Mills, Franklin, Vettori, Patel, Mason, Oram. Franklin has improved greatly in the last year and think he will be very good for us.

Also, I think our last match against Australia in the World Cup shows that Australia's attack improved (though it had McGrath, but then, no Lee) and was able to stop us from chasing a 300+ score. I really would love to be proved wrong but I have a feeling the same thing will happen this time round. Australia will make 350, and we'll make 250 at best.

McCullum with a century. I am fully prepared to eat my words if he succeeds as an opener vs Australia.
