By the way, I don't hate Warne, far from it as I rank him as the second best Test bowler of all time. However, I find the unprecedented extent to which many of his fans try to discredit Murali and his legacy based on little more than conjecture about his action utterly repulsive. And the fact that its all in support of a man with as many digressions as Warne makes it all the more repulsive to me.

Say what ever you want about MR Warne, a great bowler imho, and after all these years I am not really into 100% support of 'my team' I just like to watch good cricket and quality players

Speaking as a member, personally, I am tired of putting up with people like that. I am going back and finding every member who consistently does that towards a player/team/whatever, and simply putting them on my ignore list (and Murali is just one of about six topics that constantly annoy me in the forum). It's about to swell from three people to twenty, but I see no other way. I highly suggest that others on the forum (on all sides) do the same, rather than taking the bait and helping to ruin the thread.

The problem with that idea though, is that you as a moderator have a duty to I don't know... maybe moderate the forum? And I dare say a beevsesque ignore list would definitely hamper you in your ability to do that.

And theres knowledge and theres knowledge - the point is, on this topic you seem to lack any, seem disinclined to research it, and seem unable to argue about it (beside constantly proferring your opinion). If you really want to know there are quite a few reasonable arguments you could make on this, ideally on the correct thread. Too bad you have never exhibited any of it (despite your vaunted so called 'knowledge').

As for calling me what 12? Arent you the guy who pops up on any Murali thread that comes up, and makes rather snide usually one line comments complete with roll eyes smilies and then exits stating that it is all your "opinion". You are like a guy who mutters something under his breath and when called up on it says "I didnt say nuthin". Pathetic and juvenile. Come to that, how old are you? 40 something? Maybe its time you started to act like it.

If you have nothing to say, and it really seems like you dont, then dont say it.

In other words, either man up or shut up and shove it.

You must understand you can not say anything bad about the Murali action in this thread because it is a tribute thread, you can't say anything about Murali in the other thread because in the first post the thread starter asked people do not mention it

I am wondering in the next Murali thread started what the reason will be?

'Don't mention his action in this thread because it is Murali's birthday this month' Or the 100th post in this thread requested no more mention of his action'

My post was only a reply to someone WHO HAD ALREADY RAISED HIS ACTION in this thread.

Top Cat's only rebuttal of my main point (that the laws were changed just to accommodate Murali) were that that theory was too conspiratorial, which itself is not really any sort of a convincing argument.

My other point is that if you dare raise his action, it's almost like you're treated as a big, red-neck bully, whereas if you give his action a tick you are somehow a gracious, sporting gentleman.

By the way, nowhere did I say that under the current, altered laws, his action is illegal.

I used the word precious and I think it correct tbh. I also agree under the new rules he is okay except for the doosra every now and again. The name calling is one thing; moron, idiot, old (that made me laugh), but I hate when it is suggested that it is only because of Warne that Aussies have a concern with the Murali action

No, the rebuttal is that they were changed because everyone chucked, except Sarwan. But people don't keep ignoring this, and I don't know why.

No doubt you are right, but that does not apply to everyone, and I am sure that it does not apply to myself. I was very vocal that Blee was bending his arm when going wide of the crease. To his credit he has fixed that problem. I was also 100% against Chappell bowling underarm, and very annoyed when Lillee kicked Javed

Also I though Warne should have been suspended when he ran down the pitch and gave Hudson (have I got the right name) a mouthful

You've gotta realise, mate, that most people are sick to death 300 times over of the Murali-is-a-chucker brigade.

The fact that it almost invariably intrudes on other things regarding him - and there is much interesting to be discussed about him - is deeply frustrating of times.

Quoting Richard's post as it expresses the reasons why we've said (the mods) so many times in the past, why these sort of topics should be kept clear of Murali-is-a-chucker.

It's a real shame that topics like this which mean well always end up closed because some won't stop with the Murali-is-a-chucker stuff which ruins it for other members.
