Well every time I turn on the damn radio he seems to have a big score. Average under 30 and seems to score all the time? Hamish and James must have been swapping places...

I tend to agree slightly with Prince. McCullum is slightly overrated, especially by some who think he's a wonder kid. But there are those who also underrate him. I think he is a very fine player, definitely better than his average suggests. But is he the next Gilchrist or Sangers? Not by a bloody long shot. For mine, he's better than Parore, Smith et al who have come before him as wicketkeeper batsmen. In fact, I already think he's the best we've had in terms of pure keeping (which has improved greatly and at times looked brilliant) but his batting is a bit hit and miss.

I think he can perform two valuable roles. He can either be a late order finisher or a top order stroker. NZ cricket and Brendon McCullum himself need to decide which one that want in ODI's so he can focus on that role. Promoting him only to drop him down again will do him no good. Once he has a role, and is guaranteed that role for as long as he can stand on two legs, only then will I think we'll see the best out of Brendon McCullum.

James Marshall averages under 30 in FC cricket and he's only played 8 ODIs and 5 tests anyway. Poor example really. He's obviously poor as well, but it doesn't make McCullum any better.
So you will be willing to give back Luke Ronchi?

Yes you did.

They stole a Central Districts player??? Those ****s!
Although in fairness he probably moved over there at a young age in the same way that Lou Vincent moved to Adelaide (bet they hadn't seen a chin like before or after since he left) as a kid and played for the SA youth teams. Noteable for calling in sick at school once to sit at Sir Donald Bradman's doorstep until he came home.

Still I'll back you to go to Perth, capture him, tie and bound him and take him back to New Zealand and in the process brain wash him into believing he is in his true homeland.

If Vincent can just keep his head about him today he should be able to score big. The bowling doesn't look that flash (IMO Steyn isn't that good in ODI's) and Pollock will keep the runs down but I'm not sure he'll take many wickets. He should be able to get a good start provided he doesn't try and blast it.
