***Official*** New Zealand in Australia

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I'm worried about our bowling attack outside Mills and Vettori. Vettori always seems to bowl well versus Australia but I'd be much happier if we had Bond as well. Bond + Mills + Vettori is very imposing IMO.

Against Australia

Mills 38.73 with the ball. In Australia 49.66
16.42 with the bat, in Australia - with the bat (44*)

Vettori 37.84 with the ball. In Australia 35.60
17.92 with the bat, in Australia 15.50.

Oram with the bat 30.92. In Australia 57.40

Styris 17.31 with the bat. In Australia 15.50

BB McCullum 29.57 with the bat. In Australia 22.00

Lou Vincent 29.52 with the bat. In Australia 34.85.

Ross Taylor 43 with the bat. In Australia 35.25

Interesting to note how some of the boys actually play better against Aus, aside from Pig the records could be much much worse.

Yeah not expecting Pig to have the greatest of tours. Hope he proves us wrong though. Would like Mills to make a change to his record as well.

Just looking at the South African bowling attack, I have to wonder - where did their A attack go?

yea i hope every1 is fit too

is it fair to say Aussies will be batting first in all of these games?

reasonably confident Aussies can make good totals... (if Hayden Symo Clarke are fit) but its the bowling that worries me a tad as NZ's batsmen love to play with free will.. particularly Vincent Taylor Fulton Oram... well thats almost everyone

Yeah that will most certainly be Australia's main problem, they have the best batting lineup in the world but their bowling can be susceptible and New Zealand love to chase the Aussies. A very slight weakness in Australia's formidable arsenal is at times their attack can go for runs, especially post McGrath, hopefully this will be a tight contest, will Bond be fit? Franklin?

Franklin > Gillespie/Mason for me if Mills and Bond are in the attack with those two he can be given a little more opportunity to just go for wickets and his batting is an excellent plus.

I hope everybody is fit. I really like cricket to be played by the best against best and Bond is great for cricket and is New Zealand’s only chance in this series.
While in the past the kiwi's have put in good performances against us I just don’t have the vibe this year that they are playing well enough to put in a genuine challenge.
Ever heard the phrase "Team Game"?

yes Bond is world class but Patel, Vettori and Mills are very very good bowlers and Gillespie whilst inconsistent can on his day be a very good replacement for Bond.

I don't think Franklin should play. There was reports in the papers a few months ago he was changing his action but we shouldn't test how well he will go in ODI's against Australia in Australia. Save it for Bangladesh and England and judge from there.

Patel and Vetttori to dominate Hayden when he tries to smash them.

:p

seriously tho the kiwis must be sick of Hayden.. first the Comm bank series when he hit that ton that saved his ODI Career (i think someone dropped him... imagine if that catch was taken and Hayden was dropped for the WC) .. and then the CH Series in NZ..and then the WC

Vettori did. Then someone else did. The nagain and again and again....

He's had a bit of luck against us. Time to end it with Hayden coming down the pitch to play the front foot pull to Patel. Ball goes past the outside edge to McCullum who stumps him and Hayden is out by 21 yards....

Yep we are sick of him.:@

Oh yes I've heard of the team game

But in this case this team needs this man.

I respect Gillispie, he is an attacking sort of bowler. Mills is good but I think can lose his line and length if the batsman start attacking him and get on top.

This is the Australian squad that i would like to see for this series
1.Matty Hayden
2.Adam Gilchrist
3.Ricky Ponting
4.Michael Clarke
5.Andrew Symonds
6.Mike Hussey
7.Ashley Noffke/James Hopes
8.Brad Hogg
9.Mitchell Johnson
10.Shaun Tait
11.Nathan Bracken
12.Ben Hilfenhaus
13.S.Clark
14.David Hussey

Now i know you guys would find me not picking Lee a bit weird but i think with so much workload already on his shoulders it would be better if he rested for this series so he is fresh and ready for the boxing day test.

Maybe if you don't want to regain the trophy

Mills is just a crap death bowler really, thats his main issue. Yes we will miss Bond alot but in order to fufill my one eyed Kiwi role, must point out that Gillespie is looking better and better with each match and last year we won with no Bond, Oram, and a few other players (Vettori?) though you guys did rest half of your batsmen, though IIRC you were only missing Lee from the bowling line up? Or was McGrath out as well?

then Mills should bowl his first 10 in his first spell or mayb later on but not in the death ?

and yea Lee was missing and i think we rested McGrath in two (or one) of the matches for Tait

Brackens poor record against NZ is the most surprising thing for me... i think he'll do better this time though

Bracken? He was probably their best bowler last summer. Certainly had the measure of Fleming.

I didn't even notice Lee's exclusion tbh. I would swap the average Stu Clark and bring in Lee and would be very happy with that squad.

I have a feeling Voges is ahead of Hussey though in the selectors eyes.

I was talking about preserving Lee and giving him a break for this series so obviously that means he won't play in any of the games, so i can't see a reason to just have him in the squad for the sake of having him there.
As far as selectors rating Voges ahead of Hussey is concerned i have only this to say :censored:!!
