True, but surely the overall standard of the dev league will benifit from it. Which is the entire point (as well as ensuring better fixtures) of bringing in the team in the first place.

I'm not going to be risking player form on a team that doesn't have any effect on the standings, and will most likely ****ing smash us. Mostly 2nd teamers and rookies will be playing the Masters side, alongside the players that are out of form.

Well considering that every team plays this team the same number of times, it all remains fair enough.

Ummm... it very clearly does have an effect on the standings. Whether or not the Masters XI is allowed to win either of the titles, the points gained or lost by teams playing them counts toward the table. So by all means, play a second string team.
