So which bowler would you guys have us let go of to make room for him? :p

We have Wright, McNamara, Weber, Thomas, Hancock, Wilson, Bochat, Pares. Eight bowlers already to take up 4-5 positions per team. Then we have Das, Rai, Malthus, Jaso, Kerr, Griffen, Butler and myself - 8 players to take up 6-7 positions. Keep in mind Butler and Jaso might get callups for tests and then it should be clear why we need batsmen and not bowlers. :)

Well a keeper is the first part, But I think we can transform him into a Bowling Allrounder...

Oh well, if we take one bowler, make it Young, the rest are Batsman...

I'm not expecting well get more than one rookie, if any, given the number of players in our club when compared to the likes of Green and Blue.

On the contrary, I see that as a good thing. :) I personally don't like the idea of having so many players that we can't give them all a game! I'm fairly certain that you didn't enjoy your time on the sidelines in your earlier seasons. :)

For rookies, I think we should get Young. For a bowler, he actally gets a fair bit of runs (Had me fooled that he was a bowling all rounder) and he can get a bunch of wickets fast.
Young averages 5.62 and 20 (only 2 innings - 12 and 8*) with the bat in club cricket.

No role for Jaso as high performance director in the future.

Colts News Roundup: Homepage, Daniel Towns, Greg Thomas

Wikipedia (Mass Media - The Internet) said:
"The Internet (also known simply as "the Net" or "the Web") can be briefly understood as "a network of networks". Specifically, it is the worldwide, publicly accessible network of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). It consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and governmental networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer, and the interlinked Web pages and other documents of the World Wide Web."
Whether you use it for constant cricket score updates (most of CricketWeb), to check your finances (my parents), to use MySpace (everyone and their aunts) or to simply Google "Hayden Panettiere" (thats, uh, me), the Internet is a constantly-updating and expanding network, useful for a great many things.
Sure, these days it seems to be predominately obscure pornography, YouTube Videos and 4Chan Memes, but for information on cricket - and, especially, the CricketWeb Colts - it is practically unsurpassed. To be put in proper context, the only way you could possibly get a better understanding of the Colts is to actually be in the clubrooms*, and/or join the Official MySpace.
Say, for instance, you wanted to visit a site which conveniently creates a cache of all CricketWeb Colts news; that's easy, because the portal on CricInfo does that. Once there, its easy to find information on your favourite Colts players, such as Daniel Towns, who was recently "interviewed" (read: they removed several of his finger-nails) on CricInfo. But for the passionate Colts Supporter, a Google Search is the final step for those of us wanting to get an intimate understanding of their number one club, presenting the searcher (searchee? Googler?) with a range of useful links regarding the CricketWeb Colts. An article ranked #2 (behind more of those Jaso-related fraud charges) was the Herald Sun's interview with Greg Thomas (read: they abducted and beat him thoroughly).
"Mass Media" indeed.

Note: The CricketWeb Colts News Roundup is part of an initiative by me to introduce and shine the spotlight on all of the Colts players, at some point during the season. It was spawned from my ambition to help make the Colts the most active club on CricketWeb, a goal not unattainable due to the entertaining members we have. This is but the first edition; Thad Bochat and Kerr please check your emails (dare I say it: your junk e-mail folders, probably). The articles Ive put up thus-far aren't humorous or too well-editied, but please - I was rushed.
And now, Im off till next Saturday. Schoolies, peeps. In the Gold Coast. Keep yourselves safe, and GO COLTS.

*The internet is also considerably less flatulent.

Glad to see Law offered a contract, will just need to ensure that Thomas and herself don't get too distracted. ;)
