Your top 10 TEST batsmen of all-time

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Barry Richards, Peter May, and W.G. should be nowhere near a top 20 test list i.m.o.
I object to see Walcott and Barrington so low, two absolutely fabulous batsmen. WG Grace surely gets in because of his legacy, while I wouldn't include George Headley, Barry Richards or Graeme Pollock because of a lack of Tests. Disagree stongly with Sir Viv Richards at #4, but that's another issue completely.

Barrington moves up to 16th after my selection.

Yes, he does.

But please, for people yet to post lists: don't change your order just so you want certain players to move up the order. Vote based on your own feelings of your all-time top 10.

I was tempted to put Barrington, Sutcliffe, Walcott and Weekes in my top 5, which they all have good arguments of being, just to try and bump then up a bit.

I think May took advantage of some very weak NZ teams to boost his average up a bit in the 1950s. Top 50 material, not 20 i.m.o.

Yeah that's fair enough. I actually didn't see the list before I picked my 10 and have no reason to move a player up the list tbh.

My only change was I ended up picking Lara into the 10, basically because of his big scores like the 375 and 400. I'm sure in 50 years time people will look at Laras highest scores and will rate him higher then some players like Kallis and Tendulkar who have better averages.

Good to see some love shown to old Herb Sutcliffe. FFS, he averaged over 60 in test cricket, you'd think more people would have put them in their list.

And good to see Weekes get some more points too.

Hmm, you all know my opinion on stats so we'll leave it at that.

Btw DoG, I think the list should only include batsmen that got votes from more than one person.
