***Official*** New Zealand in South Africa

NZ were paying 3.50 before the match started. Can only imagine what they were paying during Pollock's opening spell.

Not that NZ are home, but boy those odds would have been huge to get on.

ok this is random and not to do with this match but thought id say that Lanka were paying $100 when Lee got two wickets in two balls..
then after Kumar and Sanath's stand and at the end of day 4 they were paying $10...

but yea hmm..

BARNES OUT
Can't ****ing stand Kiwi commentators, they're ****ing atrocious. This also applies to their rugby league commentators, as well. Most biased commentary this side of Ian Healy.

NZL not looking as crash hot as they were. Mills nearly bowled out, Gillespie's foot about to fall off and Martin's **** as usual.

...you've all gone to bed?

Martin giving it away here. C'mon Kiwis. I pride myself on my predictions, but some of mine invlolved How getting under 30, Martin taking two poles, McCullum getting a fifty and laughing at Sinclair batting down the order. (N)

One of the best ODIs I’ve seen in the past year or so, excellent match!

Brilliant stuff from Nel at the end there. Pity Mills couldn’t be on the winning side, stunning bowling in his ODI comeback.

MIlls - outstanding. Travesty that his team should lose.

What a match by Andre Nel. Those two fours were immense.

I'm having a hard time remembering the last time I've seen a game that exciting. One of the best ODI's I've seen in AGES!

3 balls to go, 9 needed, and you're asking Andre Nel, who normally can't bat for blood diamonds, to get the runs?

I never thought Nel would win the game for them from there. Not only that, my heart went into my mouth when he hit that last ball! Honestly, keep it on the ground! I thought he'd be caught.

But the game was wizardry... wizardy all the way! And what a sporting nation South Africa are... it's humbling to think of how great they are. Any sport they play they win.

Perhaps I'm being too difficult in saying this. But could Martin have caught Nel after the last ball? The ball seemed to bounce in front of him... if Ponting was fielding he could have caught that one me thinks.

NZ's inability to win an ODI in South Africa is ridiculous

Taking into account the 2000 and 2005 tours and now this one, fully 5 or 6 of those games were thrillers that New Zealand should have won but lost

Indeed, regarding games against SA in general, I distinctly recall Lance Klusener hitting a 6 off the last ball to win in NZ in 1998/1999, and Klusener (I think) needing 8 off 2 in 2000 and getting them. Really, Nel was always odds on to get the 9 off 3 given the history.

Unfortunately given the weakness of our current line-up I fear we will slump to two thrashings now

Possibly...it was very close but I'd probably need to see another replay. More to the point though, is Styris dropping Boucher....that 1 run would have made all the difference.
