Great minds......, Anilthat's the best in my opinion as well...
Yeah it was a great knock alright and probably doesn't get the recognition it deserves purely because it was made against Zimbabwe, who were good enough to beat Aussie in that tournamentCertainly Kapil Dev's 175 against Zimbabwe in 1983 WC is a big contender:

India was an unfancied team facing WC elimination in that match.
Kapil was a bowler coming in at #6, with the score reading 9-4.
He was averaging 20 or so till then, with only a few 50's to his
name. (He never had another ODI ton before or after) and was the
highest ODI knock at that time.
Well from 9-4 India went on to 17-5 and then make 266 with the next highest
score being 24.
Zimbabwe made 235, so him getting even a few less would've made it curtains
for India. India went on to win that WC and have not repeated that feat in spite of stronger on paper teams, home conditions etc.
Captain's know (and was Kapil 1st time captain for that WC kind of like Dhoni was
captain for the World T20?). Unquestionably the best ever by an Indian in terms of importance.
Actually does very well for Northern Districts, especially in the last few seasons. But he can't do the job at ODI level... Nor, unlike Bevan, in his own country.
Despite, unlike Bevan, being given the opportunity.
You have impeccable tasteOram's ton at the WACA last year and Chris Cairns one a few years back both come to mind.
Wonderful innings.Quite possibly this one.
185 not out when the next highest score is 28 and against a top quality attack.

I say possibly as it would be definately IMO if they had actually gone on to win the game.
Agreed. Though Kapil has 175* where the next highest of 22 and they did go on to win the game, though the attack is clearly inferior. However, he did come in at 4-9 and made that score, so it puts it above Bevan for mine.Quite possibly this one.

Not enough Ali Brown fans on this forum. Good to see anotheri think (or at least in teh matchs i have seen) was Ali Browns 268 against Glamorgan, in 2002. it was one of the best matches i went to espially to how tence the match was when Glamorgan got close to catching the target.
but ali brown did play surpurb cricket!

Dead right. And it's scandalous how that innings gets overlooked nowadays - anyone would think they were playing with curved bats against underarm in 1975.Clive Lloyd, 1975?
You beauty. Bevsta, what a champ.Quite possibly this one.
