RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, superb bowling form, drained

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: respectable

Could Makwetla get in?
Let's see...

The worst pure bowler is:
. Mulholland -- Remarkable/Respectable.

So, Makwetla's not going to displace him

You've then got the two all-rounders:
. Pietersen -- Superb/Prof bowl, Superb/Strong bat
. Schofield -- Superb/Resp, Prof/Feeble

So that's Schofield's place under pressure.

Code:
      Makwetla Schofield
Stam 4 5
Bowl 11 10
Cons 9 7
Bat 1 8
Conc 1 4
Basically, a bit of extra bowling versus no batting...and they're both spinners. I think Schofield is safe for now.

If he was a fast bowler or FM, I'd put him in as 12th man, as the side currently has just THREE spinners (and two medium pace trundlers). Anyone got any decent young tearaways who they want to put up for consideration?

I think you guys are being far too rational and methodical about this. Where are the left-field selections, the bones of contention for cricket correspondents; where's the material for future bitchy memoirs? Come on lads, you can't run a sport like this.

For example, I have it on good authority that Ian Botham once saw Piercy from my squad bowl a doosra. On this basis alone I demand his inclusion, regardless of the fact that he's resp/resp/med, and that no-one apart from Beefy ever saw it. He also has seventeen different balls that go straight on, a level of variation most spinners never touch.

Also, it's unclear to me who in the U19 squad is going to be the valuable source of tail-end 20s. As we all know, this role is more important than any actual bowling concerns (raising the question of why Fletcher never simply inverted his batting order, but I digress). I nominate Daren Platt on the grounds that while he can't bowl for toffee, he is at least pretty much guaranteed to make 20, whereupon we can ask him to sportingly run himself out. It ticks all the boxes, you've got to admit.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

I've got an 18 y.o. superb LFM who should make the side next season.

Hurrah!

Oooh, nice! Might relegate Mulholland to carrying the drinks...could you also post his stamina, batting and concentration? Also, what type of bowler is he?
Marvin Carragher - 19 yo, BT Rating=23,419
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, competent batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated
An attacking player with superb leadership skills and woeful experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: worthless Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: remarkable Consistency: proficient
Fielding: woeful

Tough call between Mulholland and Carragher -- Carragher's got one extra level of consistency, but Mulholland's got two levels of stamina. Benefit of the doubt goes to the current incumbent.

Xxxxxx, on the other hand (what _is_ his name? I must have missed an in-joke somewhere), goes straight in for Schofield, being better in almost every way. Heath -- what's your team? I can't find it anywhere. One more small adjustment -- Taylor moves up the batting order.

His name is Eddie Ireland and no, there's no in-joke, I was just trying to save you from a poor injoke that no one here will get... My team name is Connells Estates United. Yes, its a cliquey in joke that only my friends back in the UK would understand. And believe me, they'd be wetting themselves right now. On the other hand, you guys are probably just thinking What The ****?

Plus as I set up my team when I was still living in England, they are an English team. Its a real pain in the neck as everything happens at the wrong time of day for me now. Annoying.
