Thats the end of Styris. Im starting to think this is almost his last go in tests... I think his average is in the mid 30s now, instead of the high 30s. Ive never been a fan but hes done quite well for an NZ batsman but I really think either Fulton or Ryder would do better in that spot than Styris..

It won't be the end for Styris when you have Papps, Cumming and Taylor in the team. Surely these 3 players should be dropped before considering leaving out Styris.

FFS, I hear Morrison say "wax lyrical" one more time in this test, I'll kill him. Quality commentator IMO, but could somebody give him a thesaurus already?

Yeah ofcourse but Papps and Cumming are both openers. Just talking about that no4 spot.. I mean why dont we just drop everyone and start from scratch..

Taylor is only young, very talented and playing in his first test series away from home.. Got to leave taylor in there for a few series,, Bangladesh and England, then make up our minds.

unlike the opening spots however, we do have a few good middle order players that coud replace Styris.

But Papps definitely has to go,

Harsh on Fleming.

If I was a New Zealand selector I would make Dan Vettori open. I would take the captaincy away from him for the time being and give it back to Fleming.

1 Daniel Vettori
2 Matthew Sinclair
3 Lou Vincent
4 Stephen Fleming
5 Peter Fulton
6 Scott Styris
7 Jacob Oram
8 Brendon McCullum
9 James Franklin
10 Shane Bond
11 Chris Martin

Jeetan Patel, Kyle Mills, Mark Gillespie, Ross Taylor waiting in the wings when injuries occur.

I think these guys are our best 4 batsmen. Just chuck them in the side and persevere with them. The rest , well, who knows....

Fleming out after his 50, looked a good decision at first glance, not so sure now. Looks like this could be all over tonight tbh.

Edit: Steyn gets McCullum with a ripper.

All over, innings victory for SA, comprehensive series victory as well and Steyn finishes with 10 for the match.

NZ lasted 35 overs in the second innings
