Let's say you were Mike Hussey .....

in two years, youve won a couple of Ashes (possibly), played 40 tests, average 65 with umpteen centuries after being "no chance"just a season or two before.

Would you:

a. continue in the full knowledge that you've passed your peak; or

b. retire as a guaranteed legend of the game who is discussed in the same terms as Pollock, Richards, Barrington, Sobers, etc?

Gotta say, as a confirmed capitalist, I'd be outta there like a scalded cat and trading off my name for evermore

For him to have an ave of less than 40 is a joke and he should be kicked from here to Whykickamoocow for it being at that level.

Honestly, he should be dropped but I can understand why he's not given that the batting order is stuffed without him

Where do you rate him?

He's our best current batsman. The average is largely a result of his terrible conversion rate earlier in his career but he has improved on in a fair bit now that he's started getting tons more consistently. He just a tad under 40 anyway which is pretty good for a kiwi. Cripes, we've just lost Cairns, Astle and McMillan.

So, I wouldn't write him off just yet mate and he definitely shouldn't be dropped

Having said that, he's well behind Crowe, Turner, Sutcliffe in my all-time ratings
