110 on debut against Tasmania. Simpson has two first class hundreds this season, but didn't get one on debut. Nye 102 on debut against N.S.W.

Good signing by the redbacks to get christian he will be in sa's next game apparently,may also be a chance for the pura cup.

hughes,cowan,katich,thornley,haddin ,forrest,casson,nicholsen,brakken,cameron and bollinger 12 th man grant lambert.
Good work hughes 40 against srilanka,50 and 100 in 2nd xl game,and also chosen in the acb chairmen's xl to play nz at lilac hill,people really rate this kid.

He has a tremendous work ethic from all reports. I have always maintainted that talent is nothing if you don't have the work ethic to back it up, so this is what makes him really stand out in my books. Read a report that says he trains every single day he isn't playing a game and he absolutely loves it. Great attitude and if he can keep it up, he is destined to have a great future.

Yes I would rather pick Phillipson over Doran.

How frustrating is Martin Love btw in Pura Cup matches - He's one of the worst batsmen at starting. So many edges, lbw's at the start of a Love innings.

We actually have good depth with Nye, Philipson, Moller, Kruger, Carseldine all capable of stepping up.

The problem, as I see it, is that they aren't any better than our mainline players who aren't doing a great job at the moment (batsmen anyway).

I'm a fan of Broad, but I don't think he's much at all ahead of Moller.

Also since Doran doesn't bowl Simpson shouldn't be in the top 6 IMO and we could add another batsmen.

This would then mean
7 Simpson 8 Noffke 9 Bichel 10 Hartley

Which is awesome especially with Hopes and Watson and whoever you want at 11, hopefully Kaspa..

Not sure if Maher is going to be fit for this weekend, so we could see Watson make a return to the side, and he will probably open, meaning a side of; Broad, Watson, Love, Perren, Hopes, Simpson (c), Bichel, Noffke, Hartley, Sullivan and Kasprowicz/Swann could be likely.

Anyone else suprised Simpson is captaining QLD? thought Hartley/Noffke/Hopes would've all been ahead of him.
