...and the cricket leads into the Coalition launch, I nearly threw up my recently eaten sandwich 10 seconds into the opening address.
Haha. This is quite something actually. How about the bloke who introduced the PM? ****, you'd think he was announcing someone who'd just saved the universe. Some of this stuff is so see through. Good telly though. Entertaining.

...of course, what I meant to say was "I leapt with joy, checked my bank balance to see exactly how much they'd done for me, and then pledged to head down to the booths come polling day to hand out How To Vote blank cheques."

Would have been a closer match with Malinga/Sanga's still started off with a compelling first day and the Sri Lankan's went down fighting, good stuff.

Good win by the Aussies, Lee really showing he's good enough to lead the attack.

If he'd have come out wearing the 'Greatest American Hero' jumpsuit to the theme song from the same show, I'd have kept watching. Given the announcer's enthusiasm though I thought it was all about to get a little too pornographic for lunchtime television.

Congratulations Australia on a fine win....What a thrashing by an innings....

Sri Lanka are absolutely gutless ...and to lose by an innings -they are bunch of spineless bunch ever to represent the country bar guys like Murali and a couple of others...

For Australia there are winners everywhere Jacques, Clarke, Hussey, Ponting , Hayden...Lee, Johnson, Clark.... Well played...and a brilliant team performance....There may be no McGrath or Warne...but these guys play like a Team...Great Stuff...

I still think South Africa if they played Australia now or India (when their strong batting side turns up with everyone among the runs like they did a few years ago) are quite capable of beating this Aussie side....and they will this Summer...

And this Aussie side will not be able to match the performances of some of their predecessors in the Subcontinent....because they simply don't have the bowling strength, IMO.

No point talking of what would've been ... this is the Team that was put on the park and they were thrashed today by an Innings and deservedly so...

Sangakkara very doubtful for next Test as well... in fact even if he plays he will certainly not be keeping...

And an improvement for Sri Lanka at the next Test would be to lose by anything under hundred runs or a few wickets and not by an innings...

Bit harsh on your boys there, mate. Their first innings was poor, but I thought they put up a decent fight in the second. Overall, they were beaten easily, but they can probably hold their heads high after a solid second dig.

Good win by aussies......

i think if any body can restrict thier batting line up for below 350 in the firt inngs can hope to win a game aganist them..its not evry time that u win test macthes by giving opposition 500+ in the first inngs...the current aussie line up is good enogh to win from such a postion when they know that they have a huge score to defend thay will bowl very well..their true test will come when ur side have already batted and score very few runs..but i thing such time will be very few and between with the kind of form the aussie batsmen are in ....but u have to do that if u want to win or atleast hold them for draw..less than 350 a must and less than 300 perfect..

Sri Lankan selectors (otherwise known as "the Muppets" ) are likely to keep Malinga out at Hobart one suspects...and even if they pick him the guy who got clean bowled in both innings in this Test but is still considered by them to be an allrounder with 24 wickets now from 19 Tests with a strike rate of now close 98 (Maharoof), will get picked ahead of the guy with a strike rate of 54 and 77 Test wickets (Dilhara)... so there you go Sri Lankan Team selections are doomed even before the first ball...

They will certainly play Malinga in Hobart as I've heard that he will be able to get some good reverse swing there. And mate Fernando looked piss poor in that match while Maharoof looked much better with the ball in his hand, a good fold for Malinga's style of attack.

On this batting Track Sri Lanka's 20 wickets = Australia's 4 wickets....You call that solid ...:)

An how many wickets did he get ? Those averages of 19 Tests are not lying....Just as Hussey's batting average of 82 in 17 Tests doesn't either.:)
