Oh, and to add to this: Paine was actually dropped from the Pura Cup side against Victoria. Hasn't really done much since the start of last season in that form of the game.
They tried making him open for the whole season, didn't they?

Hell of a task for a young keeper to also have to open in an FC game.

What on earth is Mark Cleary doing at #11? He's scored a first class century before, averages over 20 and has spent some time batting #7 before. Granted that the South Australian tail can all bat a bit, but surely he should be ahead of Cullen at very least...

Pretty sure QLD need to stop picking Doran & Sullivan, and selecting some in form specialist batsmen. Sure our bowlers just got spanked, but ffs our batting is terrible.

Heard on the radio that Cleary picked up an injury, hamstring or something, and is likely out for the rest of the game.

Why can't Ronchi play for New Zealand? As if Australia need him and he is down the order anyway, Haddin will get get the gig anyway when Gilchrist goes and Australia always produces gun players and by opting for the Black Caps he will get to play Test and ODI cricket a lot sooner. Hey Australia owes New Zealand one, Australia got Clarrie Grimmett, and sure NZ get Mathew Sinclair and Scott Styris back, but I guess that makes up for Brendon Julian.

Anyway he is a Judas otherwise.

Wonder how long it will take before Adcock is relieved of his place in the side. Must've raised plenty of eyebrows when he was appointed skipper, regardless of how highly they seem to think of him down there.

Fraught with danger to hand the captaincy to a guy who has yet to establish himself in the side and has 20odd games under his belt, despite the fact he's been on the scene 10 years. He wasnt even thought good enough to be in the side for 6 of the 10 Pura Cup games last season

Magoffin is seriously such a gun. 3-13 in nearly ten overs.

Did he play for Aus A?

Pretty sure he hasnt, but if he keeps this up you'd think he'd be in the frame.

Although correct me if I'm wrong but isnt he a seriously crap fielder and batsman?...and not that this matters at all but he has a weird action where he sorta leaps to the side before he bowls ?

Denton is such a gun. Really wish I could watch him bowl more; he's a real sight to see when he's fully fit. Would have played for Australia for sure if not for his injury problems IMO.

How old is he now? Well into his 30s isn't he?

NSW 3/90 with 70 to get...we were in a bit of trouble there early at 3/13. Katich is all class though. As is Thornley really.

Yeah he's 32 now and struggles to string a few games together without finding himself injured, so he doesn't have much of a chance. As far as sheer bowling ability goes, he definitely should have played for Australia.

Phil Hughes brings up his 50 against the Vic 2nd XI. Cowan not doing much at the top recently. Time to give young Hughes a go?
