Liked my 11th place, building my form nicely especially to go with the key break to start off with. What is the next important stage race before the Ardennes Classics, Tour of the Basque Country I assume?
Well done btw, did a good job so that Fensome could relax and then attack in the hill.

The Basque Country's the next ProTour stage race, anyway. IMO it's about as important as the Coppi & Bartali race in late March, but the Basque Country gives us ranking points.

It's not particularly important, but if you want to race it, sure. It's got a lot of hills and mountains, at least. :)

nibbs: Pro Cycling Manager 2006. Been upgraded since then to Pro Cycling Manager 3.

Fair bit still. The Giro starts in mid-May, due to the form issues in the sim it's probably not wise to start racing until late April.

Paris - Nice

Stage 6 of 7, Brignoles - Cannes

1,851 metres of total elevation today, with the worst coming at the start: the Col des Lecques is 6 km at 7.5 %. Col du Tanneron 25 km before the flat finish towards the coast in Cannes can do stuff too though, 5 km at 5 %.

Peter Van Petegem (BEL, QuickStep) the big name in today's TV-break, aiming for practice ahead of the Belgian classics. José Luis Arrieta (ESP, AG2R) and Robert Gesink (NED, Rabobank) other famous participants, with Arrieta just 7 minutes down in the general classification.

Van Petegem, however, got into trouble on the Lecques, and at the top only Gesink, Arrieta and Mourey (FRA, FDJeux) remained in the group. Van Petegem was stuck nearly three minutes down the mountain. The gaps closed somewhat in the downhill, but it was still too hard work.

On the second climb, Arrieta went alone, now nine minutes ahead of the peloton, but Gesink and Mourey worked their way back. Casson Dairy did not want to give up the fight, however, and set Voigt, Wesemann, Mørk and Pickup to work. This injected urgency into Caisse d'Epargne as well, who slowly began working. On the Bourigaille, with 50 km to go, another attempt went: Gray joined for Casson Dairy in chase of mountain points, but it was unsuccessful.

Arrieta, however, showed who was the strongest. A fantastic climb on the Tanneron shattered Gesink and Mourey, and despite hard work from Caisse d'Epargne and Cofidis, no one was able to hunt down Arrieta; he took a 30-second gap to the finish line.

Nah, we don't do domestiques any more. I never realised it'd be so popular, we already have a nearly-full squad of CWLanders.

Also, I'll make you five years older because a 16yo TT champion really doesn't make sense. :) Same with Mr Young.

Tirreno - Adriatico

Stage Four, Pievebovigliana - Offagna, 161 km

Guess what? Hill climb finish again. Kennett went in the long attack, attempting something new. After a chaotic first 30 km, a group of ten established itself, including Michael Rogers (AUS, T-Mobile), Mikel Astarloza (ESP, Euskaltel), David Kennett (FIN, Casson Dairy) and Pietro Caucchioli (ITA, Credit Agricole). Kennett didn't manage to take the mountain points, however, though a 35km effort with Mathieu Perget (Caisse d'Epargne) ahead of a disorganised group saved the second mountain point but could have jeopardised the stage win.

The intrepid members of the breakawy

However, it seemed a break would get their rewards. With 20 km to go, the 10 men led by 3'30, with Kennett tagging easily along and resting for the final 4 km climb. That worked well.

Waiting on the first move...

Astarloza started attacking, Kennett easily took his wheel, and the two left the remainder of the group with astonishing ease. Rogers had another poor day, evidently saving form for June and July, while with 2 km to go, Kennett attacked and sprinted from the Basque.

An exceptionally easy victory, and the first in the ProTour for the newly formed team!

Champion!

Unfortunately, the peloton rallied well enough to deny Kennett the general lead and thus jersey; he is now second behind Riccó, with Hoy sixth and four Casson Dairy men in the top 25.

Stoked with that win, seemingly came out of nowhere to my mind, albeit my mind has little to no knowledge of cycling. Still, glad to see I can do something right, just hoping to at some stage help the team win.

Hakon, when will be riding the Tour de France? I like these tours and all, but when I came up with the idea I was hoping we'd all be on the tour after a couple of months?

Of course, I'm not running it and you are, so it's up to you and I appreciate you doing all the work. it's been fantastic so far :)
