The Battle of the Commentators

Whatever it takes!!!
Lol, I'll never forget Cozier after the first Twenty20 championship match after Gayle's innings:

'That was one of the greatest knocks in any form of the game'

I can't believe he got past the first round or that he's competing with Benaud here. They're not in the same league.
I have heard Benaud say worse stuff in the last couple of years.... And he is a former international cricketer of some repute, for God's sakes....

Anyways, as much as I absolutely despise what his commentary has been in the last five years, he was extremely good in the past and so I am gonna vote for him now.

For Benaud.

Semi Final Two

Nasser Hussain vs Geoff Boycott

Nasser Hussain

Playing Career: Fell 4 short of a hundred test caps for England, leading their resurgence in the early 21st century as Captain; finishing with a slightly disappointing test batting average of 37.18
Commentating Pedigree: Took up residence in the Sky Sports commentary box shortly after his retirement rom international cricket; and has been a permanent fixture ever since.
Other: * Both his dad and brother have also played first class cricket

Geoff Boycott

Playing Career: Obsessively dogged top order English batsman playing over 100 test matches for over 8000 runs in test matches in the 1960s, throughout the 70s and into the early 80s.
Commentating Pedigree: Well known for speaking his mind, he has commentated for virtually every media outfit that takes cricket in the UK - from the BBC to Channel 4 to Sky Sports to TMS and TALKSport.
Other: * Organised the 1982 rebel tour to South Africa
* Convicted in 1998 for hitting Margaret Moore, a former lover.

It's a tough one, actually. Boycs has a couple of decades' work behind him, but Nass has shown some promising early form. I never doubted his acumen, but his wit has been rather more of an unexpected bonus.

I don't doubt that Boycs probably has the greater cricketing brain, but Nass is hardly a dunce and (IMHO, obv) the more agreeable broadcaster. His wry irony is certainly a quality Sir Geoffrey has never knowingly demonstrated.

For Nasser.

Benaud on his worst day is a hundred times greater than Cozier will ever be.

Anyways, Nasser.
