I fail to understand how a bloke like Malik would command respect within his team when his own role is so limited he bowls 2 or 3 overs and comes to bat in the last few overs, i think its about time he leads from the front and sets an example for his side that's the only way he can improve his captaincy and stature in the side.
i think the best thing from Pakistan's PoV will be for YK and Malik to swap their batting positions, Malik's major success in ODI's has come at 3 while Younis has done quite well when he has batted at 6.

Pakistan have to drop Kamran Akmal. This guy's a joke, can't open, can't bat lower down the order, and can't even wicket-keep something he should have no trouble with. They should have at least tried Sarfraz Ahmed by now seeing how bad Akmal has been for a long time. If he's not in the squad for India, I hope they still drop Akmal and make Younis Khan( who can't wicket-keep any worse) and play an extra batsman.

And Afridi is an idiot. I swear I could tell he was gonna get stumped out with Tendu bowling legspin around the wicket, but he himself had no idea when it was so obvious, and he's playing for the national team.

1 for 34 and his 31 from 32 was a pretty good effort IMO.

i agree with u.. i feel soo mad and frustrated right now.. they keep giving him chancess and he has been the reason of pakistan's recent defeats. can you believe how much damage he does to bowlers confident by droping catches?.. if a bowler doesn't have enough confident in his wicket keeper's abilities..it is going to effect his line length and most importantly interest in the game.. i blame kamran akmal for gul, asif and rahman recent failurs.. it seams that after he has droped one.. they lost interest in the game and start thinking what is the point .. we harder make the batsman to make mistake and kamran gives them another chance..

i think kamran akmal should be droped right now and should be sent back to pakistan.. they should have him play in current domestic season to prove his form...
for the second one day.. i much rather have yasir hameed to keep in place of him.. the openning pair of yasir hameed and butt is also the option that pakistan has to try now if they want find a reliable pair for test matches...

Afridi was sent up the order so that he try to make quick runs.. so he did his thing.. played his natural game.... he bowled really well.. if kamran akmal would have hold on to that catch in afridi's second over.. the match results would have been slightly different now..

I am REALLY happy that you missed out on one very famous Pakistan politician there.... :)

I am sure at least one member would have personally wanted to kill you had you mentioned his name in that list. ;) :p
i know who u r talking about.. for him i have alot of respect.. as a cricketer he was just great.. although, i am kinda of losing that respect for him now since he is in to politics..

I was talking about the manner in which he got out. Tendulkar was bowling round the wicket, legspin and spinning the ball quite a bit, and Afridi was coming down the wicket before Tendu had even bowled his deliveries, and he was trying to hit every ball hard. Just earlier before he got out, he had barely managed to get his bat on the ball while coming down the track. Obviously, had he missed the shot( which he almost did), he would have got out. So it was stupid on his part to continue playing in the same manner. He could have looked for singles from Tendu's over and gone after other bowlers.

Agreed, Malik can be the injection that the our side desperately needed in the early middle overs. Hes pretty good against spin, or at least better than Younis Khan.

I'd also try out Hameed as an opener alongside Butt, as clearly if Butt can score quickly on that pitch, he should be able to score quickly enough on most pitches to keep up the early run rate. Hand Younis Khan the gloves, I say. He always seems to do well when given a little extra responsibility.

India's batting has certainly imporved under the captaincy of Dhoni...it seems as though Dhoni has brought the required aggressive spirt and temperament of one day cricket. In addition to this I think not having a coach has helped India in that a greater responsibilty has been placed on the team themselves to become self stable.

i think BCCI will now do away with the coach...its very long now with out one rite.....

and we have not be worse during that period....but the tour of austrlia u will want some one to tell the players all the finer points..i hope they select one before the series, that is in last week of november itself

Agreed but do we really want another high profile and prominent coach like chappell( we know where that ended) or is it better to have different specialist coaches working on different elements of India's gameplay?

Agree with the suggestion of Younis keeping. Providing he's willing, of course. I've only seen him keep a few times but he looked competant enough; better than what Akmal has shown in the last eighteen months.

his batting might suffer...or he will have to come down where malik came yesterday

if he is going to keep
His batting in one day cricket isn't great anyway, and I personally think he and Malik should be swapping positions regardless, so it all makes sense to me.

Younis keeping looks like a temporary and patch up fill as Pakistani selectors look further into an upcoming wicket keeper at domestic level.. Younis definitely can't be placed as a permanent option but instead has to play the role Dravid did few years ago..
