If he keeps this up then he's right in the frame for the CB series, thing with Noffke possibly playing in the test team is imo he's not good enough to bat at number 7 and too good to be a 5th bowler. I know his batting numbers are great this season, but watching the guy bat he looks about the same quality as Bichel or Hogg...and I dont think you'd want those guys any higher than number 8 in test cricket, particularly given Gilchrist is not as consistent as he was 4 years ago and Jaques is only just establishing himself, the batting looks a little skinny then.
I think Noffke's best chance of a test cap is if there are a couple of injuries and he breaks through as a frontline bowler who can bat number 8.
Yep that'd be great with Stu Clark at 11.What about: 7. Noffke, 8. Hogg, 9. Lee and 10. Johnson? That's not a bad tail as all four players are legitimate No. 8's
I'd back Noffke to be at least 3/4 as effective as Symonds, he can really handle a bat well. Plus then Hogg, who averages more than 30 in FC as well as Lee and Johnson, who are legitimate #8's. Looks reasonable to me.Tail a bit long there for mine, if you lose one or two quick wickets, then you can lose several in a short space of time. Too risky IMO.
Not forgetting that Gilchurch is probably capable of holding a #6 batting place on his ownI'd back Noffke to be at least 3/4 as effective as Symonds, he can really handle a bat well. On form alone, if international retirements are ignored, I would place Boof, Langer, Bichel and Kasper somewhere around the Aus A/B sides (I think Jaques has done enough for his Aus spot).Sorry if this is not the right thread for it..
Just looking at the depth in Australian cricket at the moment.

* Players like Kaspa and Bichel are better then Magoffin for example but I can't see them making the Australian team ever again.
Yeah I had Voges named written at first, but changed my mind to White. I can't really argue that White is a better option, as Voges has the better average, been called up as 12th man before and is currently a better spinner then White, lol.Voges would probs be ahead of White (just) as well for the middle order spot.
I reckon your wrong. Name a few other countries A sides who are better..Aus A, couldn't beat most A sides tbh, stop living in fantasy worlds. Just cus a couple guys perform on par with some guys in the Australia team. Say more about MacGill, Lee, Symonds, Johnson and co then about the depth.
Also any pitch where Maharoof can take wickets in a joke. Any batsmen that gets out to Maharoof should be no where near a Test side. Symonds should hand back his Baggygreen in 1...2...3...

I think you over reached with going down to an Aus C sideSorry if this is not the right thread for it..

I just wanted to get Broad, Cowan, Bailey and Pomersbach's name up there as all 4 could have a big future.I think you over reached with going dowm to an Aus C side
Better of with two XII's
I'd dare suggest that none of the above 4 will ever pull on a baggy green cap unless they show a lot more improvement.I just wanted to get Broad, Cowan, Bailey and Pomersbach's name up there as all 4 could have a big future.
It depends if the selectors were picking the Australia A team for development, or to beat the other sides. If they were trying to be the best A team in the world, they'd do it easily, as they've got some big stars still playing domestic cricket.Aus A, couldn't beat most A sides tbh, stop living in fantasy worlds. Yeah Stephen I only picked players who have a chance of playing for Australia again. In saying that I've picked Matt Elliott when really I shouldn't have as he's no chance.
Aus A is still a great side who would win against many countries.

Maharoof is a bowler he's bound to take wickets. He's not so bad either.
Except that wouldn't be the team....It depends if the selectors were picking the Australia A team for development, or to beat the other sides. If they were trying to be the best A team in the world, they'd do it easily, as they've got some big stars still playing domestic cricket.
Rogers
di Venuto
Katich
Hodge
Lehmann
Watson
Ronchi (wk)
Bichel
Noffke
Gillespie
Kasprowicz
That team would dish out a a hiding to every other A team in the world.
