Get over it, thats the team which is over there. I can not believe that Ryder can be a justified choice either. Give Taylor a chance, its better than having a Marshall there.
In the longer form Ryder>Taylor

Yes thank god there are no Marshalls

Vincent and Styris should get a go at 3 ahead of Taylor IMO.

Oh dear, I've only been to one game and it was a domestic one. So..

Jamie How
Geoff Barnett
Ross Taylor
Matthew Sinclair
Scott Styris
Jacob Oram
Bevan Griggs? (I have no idea who the keepers were)
Daniel Vettori
Daryl Tuffey
Michael Mason
Lance Hamilton
Flem 274, I therefore belive that you haven't actual seen Ryder play in the flesh, therefore how are you to know whether he has any technical difficulties?
Also at FC level in the last few seasons Ryder has batted at the same position as Taylor, either 4 or 5. I would rather leave Taylor in there as he is already in the ODI team and he does of the potential to become a quality test batter if he is given a chance

Getting sick of this conversation, that pretty much goes back and forth and then round in cricles. We know Ryder can't play ATM, he's a lazy ****. Taylor is young, but very talented. Gee, let's hear something new eh.

Fair Enough . . though I do get frustrated with those who always put Ryders name in there as maybe they've heard someone say that he's got talent etc, when they haven't seen how he plays or know the statistics.

Second hard sources. Radio, newspaper, word of mouth etc.

I'm not saying Bangladesh are test class, I'm saying they have test status. Fact. McCullums test average is 32.13. Fact.

You're trying to argue your opinion as fact, Richard.

No matter how many of us take away minnow stats from averages, it doesn't make it a fact. Just an opinion. This is where you're failing to grasp the concept.
I'm not trying to argue any opinion of mine as fact, merely saying it's an opinion most people share. Bangladesh are not Test-class. Therefore, when analysis of cricket is undertaken, it's best to judge someone's Test achievements on games against Test-standard sides, not those classified by I$C$C as Test-playing.

And it is fact - no opinion about it - that McCullum's average against those most people realise are Test-class teams is (as of the time of this post) 26.12.

:frusty: Should've known better to start this TBH.

You should. I don't do this "being wrong" lark.
Which is why, regardless of how much you post, it is extremely hard to respect you. Anyone with 44,000 posts on here would get a lot of attention. When that person then takes some of the most ignorant viewpoints out of the hundreds of thousands of members on this site, you dare not complain if you get some more negative attention throughout the forum, in here, or in OT.

I don't care if it's great activity with a lot of posts for lots of threads. Every thread I arrive at in Cricket Chat lately is overshadowed with the same arguements that can never possibly lead anywhere when you don't stand down. And I'm sick of it.

Dear Athlai,

Will no-one respect my arguement because I added an extra zero onto my figure? Or should I stick to Jazz and Tap?

Yours, right here, right now,
Nnanden.

TBH i don't rate Amla much as batsman he might get a few runs now and then but he is hardly a type of player one would expect to see batting at no.3 in the South African test squad, his technique is not upto the mark either and its about time somebody else gets a chance instead of him.
