By NZ selectors at least

The other Hadlee. not Walter, not Richard, the other one. There's another one that played I'm sure of it. Ironic really.

Aus: Simon Katich

Eng: Ashley Giles (thanks to Monty Mania)

Ryan Sidebottom - takes shed loads of wickets for Notts (the England selectors clearly struggle to locate Trent Bridge) and, as a lefty, could provide much needed variation for us. He was probably selected too early, but has improved since and is appreciably sharper than Lewis & also gets more bounce.
Knows his stuff, this fella.

Colin Miller
Adam Dale (surely he would of been a huge success if he were English and played in the 90's)
Chris Nevin
That bloke who got 267* for New Zealand against Sri Lanka a good 10-11 years in Dunedin. I can remember the innings but not the guy who scored the runs, which must make him forgotten
James Foster (kept quite well in his last Test, considering at times Mark Butcher was struggling to land the ball on the pitch)
Bruce Martin (wasn't he meant to be New Zealand's next great spinning hope?)
Andrew Penn
Marlon Black (has he disappeared into thin air?)

Bryan Young, I think you mean. And I'm pretty certain he's retired - about 4-5 years ago, maybe longer. He was already over 30 when he played that innings IIRC.

I would say that by and large that players of recent times aren't generally forgotten, unless they weren't exactly 'great' in the first place. I would put in the 'great but forgotten' category somebody like Patsy Hendren, who scored 170 f-c 100s (2nd only to Hobbs) but hardly ever gets a mention now when people discuss the best English batsmen of the past.

Percy Sherwell

Started his career as the number 11 captain and keeper, while his last Test innings - still as captain and keeper he opened the batting.

He also made a century at Lords.

He also got 57,611 FC runs, would that make him number 2 in the all-time FC run scorers as well? Quite a fine Test career, although his conversion rate from 50s to 100's is quite low.

Can't see how Blewett or Elliott could be considered forgotten..

They had plenty of chances and blew it - well one of them did at least.

I also think Jamie Cox is slightly overrated. He had a couple of good years but there were better players so he never really had a chance playing for a strong country that doesn't give out test caps easily often.
