Well, those three games against Bangladesh, Kenya and Canada shouldn't count for much. Aside from those games, in the other seven he has had two noticably good games. His 2/50 and 2/46 are reasonable, but I'm not too sure about the quality of batsman he has dismissed.

My favourite team would be New Zealand. I wish they win
But South Africa would have the home advantage.

Good performance from Vettori. Pretty dissappointed for not being scored century. Good captain knock

Vettori out for 99, gu'in. :(

This SA attack is seriously second-string; odd given that the batting is pretty powerful.

Poor old Danny. Still he played an excellent captains knock and saved us from total embarrassment(I get the feeling I'm going to be writting that a lot over the next few years). It'll be interesting to see how the bowlers go tomorrow. I'd imagine Bond'll still be taking it pretty easy and saving a true warm up for the Match against South Africa A next week. Martin and Mason though will be keen to impress and I'll look forward to seeing how they do.

Poor Vettori. Probably just the start of a three-piece plan from Warne to get back at him.

Gun effort by Vettori. Bond had a decent wag too. Fleming looks promising, hopefully he can get past 50 in the second dig.

You guys overrate technique. Oram is a better batsman than guys like sincair, papps, cumming. I don't care where he bats, runs are runs and he is more consistant than fleming too. Atleast he doesn't look clueless vs Australia like Flem does.

I don't see how you couldn't rate oram's batting! He has scored a lot of runs under pressure vs Australia and south africa. Something that only a handful of NZ players have done in the past 10 years. you are confusing his odi inconsistent batting with his tests. He is a much better test batsman.

Here are some stats- overall test batting average - 39
Last 15 tests average- 46.

After a slow start he has been very conistent. By NZ standards that a great record so far and he hasn't done it by bullying weak teams. He would easily make the NZ test team on batting alone.

Interestingly for all the people that are Fleming stans here his averages 41 in his last 15 tests despite scoring 262 in one innings.. I'm sure you guys are gonna come up with something to make it seem like he is doing better though. I'm not saying he shouldn't be in the side, not at all- I like fleming but in test cricket at the moment he is no better than guys like styris and oram who actually do better than fleming vs good attacks.

I'm with you on Oram, but he isn't better than Fleming. He's certainly done the business better than Papps and Cumming at test level, while I think it's unfair to compare him with Sinclair.

But Oram is a lower order batsman, not a top order. He's an all-rounder. I see him as our Flintoff, basically. Except he should bowl at 5 and not 3.
