The Battle of the Commentators

can anyone play (whatever it is we are playing) anyway for Aggers, ughh how could anyone think the irritating kok is better than the lucid, wry aggers.
Anyone can certainly play, Burr. A new battle every day to see who really is

Battle Two

Tony Cozier vs Jeremy Coney

The Form Guide: A controversial victory for Tony Cozier against the Australian favourite, Alan McGilvray saw him sneak through to the 2nd round on an HDS technicality. In contrast, Coney rode roughshod over the fancied Brian Johnston to comparatively breeze through to round two. Can Cozier repeat the feat of his first round victory against Coney?

Tony Cozier

Playing Career: None to speak of. He played club cricket in Barbados and played Hockey for their National Team.
Commentating Pedigree: He has been a cricket writer and a voice synonymous with West Indian cricket since 1958. He debuted in radio commentary during the West Indies vs Australia series in 1965. He has since been a regular on the BBC's test match special team and in the commentary box for Sky Sports.
Other: * Author of the definitive history of West Indian cricket

Jeremy Coney

Playing Career: A more than useful New Zealand batting all-rounder who played over 50 tests and 80 ODIs, leading his side in 15 tests.
Commentating Pedigree: Walked into a commentating career after his playing retirement and has been proved to be a commentating jack-of-all-trades; successful on both radio and television and in most of the major cricket heartlands.
Other:* Wisden Cricketer of the year 1984

Days of Grace

International Captain
For: Coney

Something tells me Coney is not as well known among non-NZ forum members, so Cozier will probably win, even though if you all heard him, you'd know instantly that Coney is the better commentator.

For: Cozier. I've never heard Coney, and I like Cozier a lot. The one thing I think he does too often is compare current West Indies players to players from the great sides of the 80s which I don't think is very helpful to them.

Why the Kakapo avatar, Heath?

Why the Kakapo avatar, Heath?
Why not?

Or more honestly, I've a bit of a soft spot for the big chaps. I even have a pet parrot myself as it happens.... Not a Kakapo though - I think that'd be illegal.

On another note, 1,000 up for the Chubb-ster.

Cricketer Of The Year
For: Coney

Anyone who disagrees is insane. During a test match, this man talked about percentage pitch absorbtion of pace for five minutes. He is so analytical that it is brilliant.

Oh, I have been on CW for a long time and only have a post ratio of 0.67, which will have gone up now seeing how I've made 3 posts in 15 minutes. I'm the Mark Richardson of posters. And what better way to mark it than a server-snarl-up-induced accidental triple post?
