I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bother with Nicholson.
If anything, he'd be more close to becoming a Kallis than a Wasim.Nah, he'll never be as good as Wasim Akram.
Back to the Bracken and his test chances...
How do you rate Nathan Brackens chances of making the NSW 4 day side?
If NSW only picked 4 bowlers I would say he's got little chance but if they go for 5 bowlers with 4 of them being quick he does have a chance.
Lee, Clark and MacGill will all play if fit. Which leaves 2 spots at the most for Bollinger, Nicholson, Cameron, Casson and Nicholson.
Bollinger bowled very well in the 2nd innings claiming a hat trick, Nicholson scored a 100 so his ability to bat a bit could see him picked over Bracks, and Cameron was MotM last match taking 5-33 in the 1st innings. So yeah what are Bracken's state chances?
I really hope NUFAN's post was in jest...Haha, you're joking? Bracken's FC record is superior to any of them.
Reckon they'll go with Lee, Bracken, Clark, MacGill and Nicholson.
EDIT: FC Average
Cameron - 14 @ 25.42
Bracken - 181 @ 26.71
Clark - 294 @ 26.95
Lee - 392 @ 27.66
Nicholson - 380 @ 29.03
MacGill - 743 @ 29.96
Bollinger - 96 @ 37.51
Casson - 79 @ 42.78
Can't see it mate, I think he'll deserve his place in the Australian side for years to come but I can't see him making many World XIs in his career. If anything, he'd be more close to becoming a Kallis than a Wasim.
It wasn't..I really hope NUFAN's post was in jest...![]()
For the record I didn't mean he'd be as good as Kallis, but that Watson is more of a batting all-rounder.Can't see it mate, I think he'll deserve his place in the Australian side for years to come but I can't see him making many World XIs in his career.
Will be more than happy to be proved wrong though.
Now, as much as you don't like Lee...Richard said:Bracken > Lee. Easy.
Yeah for me it's all the people that constantly have a go at him here, mates and the media. I don't particularly like the guy, it's just I really dislike how they constantly bag the guy for every inane reason under the sun and would love to see him gun it just to see their faces really (and gloat, there will be plenty of gloatingFor the record I didn't mean he'd be as good as Kallis, but that Watson is more of a batting all-rounder.
I hope I'm right too! Something about the guy that makes me want to believe!![]()
There is no way that Bracken is ahead of Lee.Bracken > Lee. Easy.
As for Bracken vs Bollinger... simply cannot believe it's even up for discussion.![]()
Bollinger did not do well in England. He bowled around 85mph and got carted more often than not. There is no way that Bracken is ahead of Lee.
Lee is about to have the new ball for Australia. Bracken will not.
Doug Bollinger is a much improved cricketer who started his first class career terribly, that's why his average is so high.
He had a very good year last season and started of this season with figures of 3/33 and 5/38 which included a hat trick against good batsmen in Voges, Bandy and Ronchi.
He was also NSW leading wicket tacker last season..
Yes his 16 first class wickets in England were expensive.Bollinger did not do well in England. He bowled around 85mph and got carted more often than not.
Ah, found his stats:
16 FC wickets at 44.56.
11 List A wickets at 31.63. Econ = 5.35
2 Twenty20 wickets at 52.50. Econ = 10.50
Experience my friend, that's another thing MacGill brings to the bowling attack. If MacGill doesn't play in this match, it would be absurd to pick him for the First Test. As it is, I think it's absurd picking him full stop, but this would make it even moreso.
It's clearly a pro-Heal sentiment.Experience my friend, that's another thing MacGill brings to the bowling attack.
I realise that.It's clearly a pro-Heal sentiment.
