After the last Champions Trophy finally provided a decent tournament at the 5th attempt?
Yes. The international schedule is too crowded otherwise, and the Champions Trophy serves no real purpose. I'd far rather a couple of tours going on, or a Twenty20 World Cup.

I disagree; I feel that the Champions Trophy, if it works as well as the last one did, certainly does have a place in international cricket, and that there are plenty of other things (Twenty20 tournaments... for instance... ;)) that should be abolished first.

I knew this would come down to your dislike of Twenty20 as a format, but for those fans who like both it's obvious which tournament needs to go if a Twenty20 World Cup is going to become regular.

I don't see any reason, TBH, why the two have to compete. If you're going to have a Twenty20 international tournament - regrettable for the likes of me, but pretty much inevitable really - it simply needs (this was needed long, long before Twenty20 was even conceived at domestic level) an assaugement of the schedule. For starters, it doesn't need India and Pakistan playing every year, something Shahryar Khan seemed to realise, and it's a shame his successors don't currently seem to.
