Btw, I meant Indian top order. :p
And it WAS disgraceful. To have 194 to chase and leve 130 of those to the last four wickets IS disgraceful.

Great that we won but the batting continues to pose serious problems.

Absolutely gagging for the upcoming Test series now. No love lost between the two sides - could be a scorching summer in Australia.

Since 1992 - the year since when I started watching cricket, I see Indian commentators saying Indian have got a good batting strength that matches none. Since then, I dont see them doing well when its needed most, when they play on non-batsman friendly pitches....

Till now I dont see a reason why these Indian commentators (both Hindi and English) say India have got a good top order.... Still a question mark?????????????

Useless top order , over-hyped , IMO....

Murali Kartik was great in his prompt one word answer when asked if he had nicked Brett Lee.

"yes" he said.

Yeah, the win was a thrilling one for India, but it wasn't exactly positive in that the top order fired or their quicks were brilliant or anything.

India will have to do some soul searching after this series, particularly amongst their top order.
Considering they came extremely close on Sunday (and really have themselves to blame for that loss), and won two games, I'd say this series went better than most Indian fans would have thought.

Are Australia heaps better than India? Yes.

But I'll tell you what, its better being an Indian ODI cricket fan now, in October 2007, then it was in April 2007 around World Cup time.

A 7-0 series loss to Australia is less embarassing than being bundled out of the WC Group stages, so it'd have been better anyway.

I've always believed that you should NEVER admit to it nicking one and getting away with it after the game.

It's almost like you're giving the umpire a "ha ha, you didn't get me" :p which can't help but be remembered. It wouldn't surprise me if the next 50/50 call (particularly from that umpire) went against him now.

I've always been a fan of walking, so this makes my blood boil.
Does it make your blood boil when Australians don't walk? Because I'll tell you what, Border, Taylor and many others have said they would never walk, and disagree with Gilly's general stance.

Or is it only when it goes against Australia?

Considering **** decisions cost India heavily against England only a few weeks ago, I think its decent that they get a bit of luck on their side. You can't control these things.

Sachin got 3 horrid decisions in England, two of them in the 90s!

I agree but I think he just answered promptly ehrn asked without thinking about it. I suppose the question took him by surprise.

If he had said, as Slater suggested, "Look its over and done. It doesn't matter now" or words to that effect.

Everyone should have a look at this talking of 'walking'

Why reply if you're going to be a smartarse?

Clearly India have moved forward in limited overs cricket, even if its only small steps.

Uthappa has come on the scene and been brilliant whenever he's had the opportunity (including winnings India games off his own bat), and they've managed to rekindle a good opening partnership between Tendulkar and Ganguly, which IMO should have been the opening pair at the WC.

Yes there are negatives, but that's just the nature of being an Indian cricket fan. The fact is, they could very well have bundled out today and been all out for 110. Instead they fought, and fought hard. Just like they did in the T20 WC, and just like they did in England recently in the tests and ODIs (series loss not withstanding) in matches where they looked gone.

Btw, does anyone think this match was very similar to India vs. England 4th ODI earlier this year, when Broad and Bopara won the game for England when all hope looked lost?
